I was immensely happy when Andrew's Kitchen said they have vegetarian fried rice. I have been looking for vegetarian food around that place for around one hour and finally I got Andrew's Kitchen. It saved my life. That was the only restaurant nearby in which people understood the word Vegetarian. Because most of them doesn't understand English. My God, Balai is very difficult for vegetarians.

Located along the main street, it's easy to get to, and you get a nice view out towards the sea. Do reserve your table in advance to get the tables with the better view, or go for an earlier dinner.Food is decent, but average and nothing to shout about. The seafood was ok, but the non-seafood dishes felt a bit overcooked and flat.

Walked past this restaurant in the afternoon while they were preparing the ingredients in an open kitchen just next to the road. It looked interesting and decent so we decided to give it a try for dinner. Ordered a 500gm black pepper crab, a bbq fish, a vegetable dish, 2 buah long long drinks and a can of beer. Total price was 352,000 rupiah (although we paid 350,000) which is totally reasonable. Food was fresh and delicious, buah long long wasnât diluted. Staff were honest to tell us not to over-order and to order more if it wasnât enough. Food was served pretty fast. Totally recommended to try and will go back to dine for sure.
