I had one nigth in this place after a 10 days hike. At first I reserved a romms to share, but when I saw the size of the rooms, I decided to change for a little room for myself. It is very "cosy", means a bit small in my opinion for the price. But the place is very nice and relaxing. I also had a dinner and I've been a bit desapointed with my Fish and chips with only one small pieces of fisk and Mc Do style fries. But in the middle of nowhere.Thank you for your review. You chose a budget double room $115 in our backpackers in a remote and beautiful location near the Routeburn track. Our $27 Fish and chips dish is one portion (a piece of snapper) and shoestring fries (yes Macdonalds serves shoestring style fries as well) these are the most popular. The fish and chips are served with salad, coleslaw, homemade tartare sauce and tomato sauce.

After a safe and scenic drive from Queens town, we could find an easy park within short walking distance to the hotel on flat terrain. The hotel accommodated our group of eleven people easily and happily. We all enjoyed our lunch and the varied choices with large servings.Thank you for booking to have lunch at our hotel. Our portions are reasonable so its nice to see that they met your expectations.We have a large lunch menu with something for everyone.The drive down is probably one of the best views in the world so its great to see that you like the scenery as well.Thankyou and please visit again.

Stayed in one of the few en-suite rooms of the lodge. The old building was nicely renovated and luckily had insect screens on all windows. With the chairs on the veranda you can spend a nice evening outside enjoying the lake view. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
