Where to eat Mediterranean food in Santiago: The Best Restaurants and Bars

June 22, 2020 Alice Mieles

Reviews on Mediterranean food in Santiago, Santiago Metropolitan Region, Chile. Santiago is one of those metropolitan joys where the more you look, the more you find. Funky cafes and dance clubs dot Bellavista, Forest Park art collections range from pre-Columbian to contemporary, and architecture runs the gamut from the 16th-century San Francisco Church to mirrored office towers. Shop with the locals at Mall Panora¡mico and give your palate meals to remember with hearty Chilean fare.

We had breakfast multiple times here. In sequence of the hotel service people here are also very very kind. There is such a broad choice for healthy eaters like me and the more greasy types like my husband. Setting is lovely with an impressive wine room to tickle your diner imagination. Dear Marjolein CThank you for your review. Both the service team and the kitchen team are very happy for your impressions in our service. Hope to have you soon back with us,Have a great day.

Came to this area on a Sunday evening after our hotel concierge recommended it. We arrived fairly early (around 8pm) so had no problem being seated without a reservation and from the looks of the restaurant as we left think this wouldn't be a problem anytime on a Sunday. To start my girlfriend and I had the calamari which was OK although nothing hugely special. For my man I had the ravioli with a cranberry and cheese sauce which was fairly tasty. To drink we had a chilled bottle of merlot recommended by our very helpful English speaking waiter whose name escapes me. Overall the meal was good however felt that 70,000 pesos was a little steep for 2 mains, 1 shared starter and a bottle of wine.

We went on the recommendation of friends who dined there two nights ago. They thought it was great. Tonight the service did not measure up. Our waiter Javier took my order for a glass of wine, an appetizer to share, and a main course - or so I thought. He forgot to write down the main and instead went to talk to guests at another table. He then disappeared. A runner brought the drinks, the appetizer and everyone else’s food. Javier was no where to be found. Nor did anyone else approach our table to ask if everything was okay, if we wanted another drink or dessert or coffee.I never got my main. Finally when everyone else in our group had finished eating, we caught the attention of another employee. He said Javier had left for the night and apparently never handed us off to another wait staff.Perhaps one redeeming factor - since he had never written it down, i was not billed for the food I did not receive. We greatly regret what happened, we will make sure that it does not happen again. We will talk with Javier

Great spanish tapas, dangerously sweet sangria, good enough main courses, and some excellent deserts. The house where it’s set in the Barrio Italia area of Providencia has a very charming facade that is not too coherent with the unpolished and bland interiors. Moodier music (spanish!) could help the atmosphere too. I’m sure it all must feel sexier for dinnertime with low lights. The Terrace looked very promissing for the summer months.
