Takasaki is known as a pasta-town and Harappa is in my top three for the area, if not number one. Almost all dishes have garlic in them and most of those have cheese and red peppers in them. Though the pepper doesn't particularly make the pastas spicy the chefs will happily make it spicier if you ask.All in all there's really little to be said but that if you like pasta and you like garlic you've gotta pay Harappa a visit. The rock and roll in the background, simple tables and stools, line out the door, and hard to find parking lot make this place what it is and that is great!Again, garlic is the story! Don't expect to order a salad!

This is one of the very few family oriented places that is open past 23:00 in Takasaki.The pizza was nice and cheap.But pastas are not so great. Just average typical spaghetti.But it's adequate if it's the only place that is still open late at night.

This is not the main restaurant (see Harappa Iwaoshi) but it is just as tasty! The first twenty items or so on the menu all have the garlic mark on them and most have the hot pepper mark as well. If you want just a plain good meat sauce, or a simple cream sauce this is not the place to bother. If you like cheese and olive oil and garlic with a great flavor this is a local favorite that I visit often.The service is better at the main restaurant, but that is wholeheartedly expected given that this one is located within the station building. You can get off the bullet train and be eating pasta in 5 minutes so no complaining if you don't get two dollars off you bill just for smiling and being kind like I did the first time I visited the main restaurant.
