I read many reviews before choosing this restaurant for my guests. It was business trip and I needed nice retaurant with good food and nice surroundings. Cumba is the one I chose. We tried local appertizers, mix of traditional meats, salads and deserts. Local red wines as drinks. We were all happy with recommendations and good food. Surroundings were also nice, the view of Izmir at night was impressive. Staff was friendly. I liked everything about Cumba restaurant.

Etler çok lezzetli ve uygun fiyatlı. Porsiyonlar biraz fazla ama 4 kiÅi olduÄunda herÅeyden tadımlık yaptırmak mümkün. Kuru et Åiddetle tavsiyedir, EfsaneBu kadar güzel etlere yakıÅır tuz olması lazım. Maldon tuz pahalı ama bu ete yakıÅır. Siz almazsanız gelirken kendi tuzumu getiricem

It is elegant restaurant in French style but serving very interesting Turkish food. Half dried cocktail tomatoes are very good idea, black olives tapenade perfect. Service is very good and nice. I had lunch at this place at 4pm. They were very flexible about our timing. It was not crowded at all but this was due to our timing. The restaurant is quite big but breathes a nice atmosphere. It makes me think of big restaurants in big cities. The food we had was very good. We chose to eat some Turkish specialties but on the menu I saw that there are also pizza's and pasta's. Surprisingly the menu was not only in Turkish but also written in French and English. (probably due to the French institute next door or the owner must be a French guy, given the name of the restaurant his will probably be the case but I am not sure about that)

Restaurant at the top of the Swiss Hotel. Beautiful modern restaurant, great view across the bay and the city. The restaurant is very nicely presented - black and white striped couches, roses and candles on the table. Very attentive staff who provided great services from the beginning. Menu includes meals from around the world - each dish has the country of origin listed next to it, along with recommended paired wine. There was also a choice of a set menu which looked nice. We started with bread, which was fresh and served with a choice of lavender or mint butter and olive oil, and a complimentary chefs salad that was like a spicy mini taco. We started with the sushi plate, which was nice enough - one piece had gold leaf on the top as a garnish! We had the lamb shank with eggplant puree which was so tender that it fell apart - absolutely delicious. Then the circus mousse served in a chocolate nest - very tasty and much bigger than expected. The wine list was fine - quite expensive with huge mark up. Overall a great experience.
