Reviewed By Barnabas68The Garden Kale has seen better days and it been eclipsed by so many newer and more luxurious hotels in the thermal district but it is still one of the closest to Afyon Çarşı and it is fairly cheap. Beds are comfy and clean and the rooms have balconies for smokers and a small fridge. My favourite thing is the indoor swimming pool. It is really big, great for families, and for kids big and small there is a spiral water-slide. There are small thermal pools and hamams as well (gender-separated). You will be asked to purchase a swimming cap for 5 lira if you don't have your own. If you are on a budget the frequent Özdilek minibus passes next to the hotel for 2.5 lira - a short ride to town (Çarşı) or Afium shopping precinct. Local taxi drivers are usually very honest and helpful. Afyon town centre has one of the largest and most authentic Ottoman towns anywhere, and Afyon lokum is the best in Turkey (try the Sultan's creamy Turkish delight with Antep fistik). Afyon province has become quite industrial with the marble quarries around town and some factories, and town planning is not the best, but it is growing fast. This hotel is a convenient and comfortable place for travellers and the buffet breakfast is really very good - freshly cooked omelettes and loads to choose from including fresh local kaymak (butter-cream) which must be eaten with honey (yum!) All up, good value for money we thought. Note that there are no eateries in walking distance but if you feel like an intrepid morning stroll there is a laneway to quaint Erenler village by the mountains. Take-away alcohol is available before 10pm from the Migros supermarket at Afium shopping centre (there are restaurants there too, although dinner can be provided at the hotel). Check-out time was noon. Front desk staff are polite and professional but generally like most Afyoners they do not speak English.

Right in the center
Reviewed By IonutRomaniaPros Large rooms, clean and well equipped. Free parking in an underground garage was a big plus for us. The stuff takes care of parking and bringing back your car. Right in the center of the town. Afyon is quite small but seems to be the center of the world for Turkish delight. Good breakfast. Friendly stuff. Lovely views of the fortress from our rooms. Good price! Cons. Nothing worth mentioning.

Very low price for perfect accommodation
Reviewed By eddo853I was here when I was on my business trip. I was looking for good heated and clean accommodation. In this hotel it was just like that. Additionally I had flat TV, mini bar, hair dryer....The breakfast was very good. Good coffee and tee. And as a cherry on the cream on the end the owner personally came to our table asked about our satisfaction and brought a peace of domestic "halva". I liked it very much

Reviewed By Pris LWhen I booked a 2 night stay place, I thought to myself "It can't be that bad, right?". I have never been so wrong in my life. We booked through its website with a fixed rate for each room per night and confirmed these prices with a quote from the manager. Instead, when we paid they changed the prices to be PER guest PER night, forcing us to pay a lot more than our prior quotes given to us by the manager and the website booking. What's worse is that the room is in terrible condition with mold, stains, and dust everywhere. The beds are rock hard and the blankets are oily. I can go to the supermarket and make a better breakfast myself. The bread is old and stale. How is it possible that olives and eggs can taste so bland???
