I have been to the Canadian farm two times. Both times were really great. The food is truly amazing. Everything is organic and freshly made.Very unique wabi-sabi log buildings.The owner and staff also can recommend some nearby onsens (hot springs).Owners daughter also has a very good restaurant in town.All in all great, for families, friends, romance, kids, elderly, outdoor/organic enthusiasts.Delicious meats but can prepare vegetarian upon request.

Went there for lunch after asking one of the locals for a recommended place. Wasn't expecting much to be honest but was pleasantly surprised. The 1,800 yen lunch course included a starter soup, main with both fish and meat, dessert and coffee as well as some very tasty home made bread. All were well presented and a feast for the eyes as well as the taste buds. The fish was really well done with nice crispy skin, and the side vegetables included some local produce. The owner-chef, who has lived in Sweden and goes back once a year, was also able to adjust the menu to cater for my food intolerances. Dinner is a little more pricey but if you are in the area looking for a nice place to eat I recommend this place.

We had lunch here on a weekday afternoon. The four of us each chose a different entree; they were all very good, and fairly typical fare in a western-style Japanese restaurant. Everything was fresh and nicely prepared. What sets it off, though, is the soup, salad, bread, and beverage bar that comes with the meal. The salad produce was very good, with several dressing choices, the bread tasted like it was just out of the oven, and there was a good selection of non-carbonated beverages. Service was friendly and pleasant, and the dining room is quite attractive, overlooking the lake.
