We highly recommended the Halaszbastya Etterem there was not one disappointment. From the moment you enter you are greeted with warmth & charm with the feeling of going back in time. Itâs like a old castle, but completely refurbished. We were escorted to our own private dining table, with the most beautiful views of the, Parliament and all of the Pest side of Budapest. We were even blessed with a full moon rising. Our wait staff, Jonathon, Askos and our sommelier did an outstanding job making sure everything was just perfect. A big thank you to the Chef, for the 5 course meal which was so delicate and delicious while being presented so beautifully along with The Hungarian wines were so delightful and complimentary with each course. You must give The Halaszbastya a try, you will not be disappointed. We were celebrating our 39th year of marriage and this restaurant was the most romantic place to be celebrating with the beautiful views that we will never forget how exquisite our visit was to Budapest.

Small casual restaurant with very good food and service. Staff very attentive. Although menu is small, it has variety. We visited twice, once a dinner and once for lunch. Same menu but everything we ordered both times came to perfection. Food is very, very good. Our waiter was Ben. The restaurant's cuisine is International European and they also have many traditional Hungarian dishes.. The location is perfectly placed in front of Matthias Church and the atmosphere inside is amazing and so relaxing.. Iâm eating halal food, so I had for lunch the risotto with mushroom and goat cheese, canât describe how tasty, beautifully presented and fresh it was.. The staff are very attentive, smiling and have professional approach.

Tonigjt we had the pleasure to find Franko Kitchen through Tripadvisor. What the other good reviews say is true. You have to know where you want to go to find it. The entrance is a small door, but the restaurant is bigger inside. I ordered a glass of Hungarian white wine. The server realized I was not happy about my choice and brought a sample of what he considered a better one. Great way to sell. I certainly ordered a second glass of the good one. I had a rump steak that was tender, soft, delicious.

My friend and I found this restaurant completely by accident, wandering the city looking for a place to eat late at night. We only stumbled upon this place and decided to try it because of the pretty fairy lights outside. But we are so glad we did! It was far larger than we had originally thought from the outside, but because of the time or the quiet street it was not at all busy. The wait staff was incredibly attentive and cared about us liking every dish they put in front of us. Then, of course, the food was phenomenal; we did all but lick our plates. And for dessert we each got a different international hot chocolate, both of which were so rich and delicious that we stayed an extra hour just to savor them and get every last drop. By the time we went back to our room, we were the only people left in the whole place besides the staff, we simply didn't want to leave!

From the outside, this restaurant looked unremarkable. However, inside is lovely and the real treat, if the weather is good, is their garden. We sat there on a perfect September afternoon. Our lunch was delicious - foie gras to split as an appetizer and braised piglet cheeks for our entrees! Very helpful wait staff gave us guidance on choosing the right local wines to go with our appetizer and entrees. This was the favorite of our stay in Budapest.

It proved to be a hit when I was here three years ago, and it still is.We all had the Chef's menue and it was superdelicious, some of us chose the pigeon, pickled ramsons, kohlrabi and mushroom, wich was a treat for the palate. This restaurant is all that it is supposed to be. The service is excellent , ambiance is very nice. Nice inside and a very nice terrace area. Smallish but reasonably priced wine list with superb wines.we had a pohar dementer bikaver 2014 , equal to some our favorite French wines. The smoked salmon and goat cheese appetizer was a subline combination of flavors. Prawns were excellent and the cheesecake was one of the best we have had.Liked it so much we are going back in a couple of days
