We often get take aways from Samrat and every time they are incredible. I'm vegan and there are a lot of options that can be found under the vegetarian section of the menu. Last time I had the Subz Bahr and it is now my new favourite curry. It's so yummy. I also had the vegetable Pakoda which is an entree and filled a decent sized paper bag.They also have popadoms which are dairy free.

We visited this new restaraunt after we noticed the new neon sign at the front of their building. It looked new and inviting. We decided to try it out. We were surprised. The food, indian, was fabulous. From someone who travels the world, this is seriously good tasting food.Since our first visit we have been back with friends several times.The interior is modern and well appointed. There is an area for couples and small groups and another are for larger groups. They even have the sports channel on two big TVs.The service was friendly and prices reasonable considering, in my opinion, this is a top restaurant for the Wellington Region.

An acquaintance highly recommended the food at this restaurant so we decided to try from the takeaway menu which was conveniently located on line. We ordered two dishes by number but the friendly man on the phone did not know what we had ordered. No problem. I had fortunately scribbled down the dishes while travelling North from Wellington. We were given a choice of hotness and the dishes we received were not only tasty but spot on in terms of heat. The garlic naan was soft but not very garlicky as the garlic flakes used lacked punch. Not uncommon though in most Indian restaurants.When we ordered we were told 15 minutes and we arrived dead on time. Annoyingly I had to wait another 15 minutes before our food arrived after a frustrating commute home. I asked if our order had been missed but was told no! Five minutes late ok but not 15 minutes. Understaffed??Anyway we decided that the curries were good value and the basmati rice perfectly cooked with cumin seeds a nice touch. We will return as dine in customers but only because we enjoyed the curries.Thank you for your feed back and opportnunity to correct our mistakes.we will take your concern constructively and improve service for sure.

A regular venue of ours whenever we visit the Kapiti Coast. Certainly the best Indian Restaurant by far in the area. We have probably tried every dish on the menu by now and have never been disappointed. Keep on the good work..!

This is the Only Indian Eatery we visit... Really, they are That Good!Prompt, polite, helpful & funny. Very accommodating Staff Food is out if this world, extensive menu means you will always find another Lovely item that you did not try yet. Faultless execution, excellent appearance & Divine really does describe the flavour palette. Personal preferences quickly & easily catered for. Seriously, you owe it to yourself to prove that what you read here is true & utterly enjoyable, Malcolm.
