Our tour group came here for a late lunch after being in the Lake Bled area. I believe all of us not only enjoyed seeing the expert ladies making the wonderful gingerbread items downstairs but all thought our lunch was delicious. The dessert of green apple gelato inside a green apple was definitely the ultimate ending to a delightful meal.

This place serves only "kruhki" which is their speciality. Kruhki come in several different editions and every single of them is worth trying.
Staff is really nice, always here to help you. Service is quick, but place is usually full so I recommend Reservations or you may wait quite a lot.

Placed in the central square of Radovljica, the Restaurant as a good cvapacity of seats spread in different rooms. The appearance is very good and personnel is warm enough to make you at ease. However, we were expecting more: dishes did not show a particular character and just balanced with the price. Maybe we were only unlucky...To be tried again

The a-la-carte restaurant in Via Podvin is run by one of Slovenia's best chefs - Uros Stefelin. Uros finds challenges in discovering forgotten local ingredients, getting to know them and creating new dishes in his own unique way. With modern techniques and creativity he transforms traditional dishes into culinary delights of Slovene Nouvelle Cuisine. Our restaurant is decorated with local Slovene souvenirs. Each telling a tale of its past and the wealth of Slovenian cultural heritage. We wish to add to this collection by sharing our culinary souvenirs with you; visit us, taste the dishes and when leaving, leave with good memories and the recipes of the dishes you have tasted.
After wandering around Bled we decided to have something special for lunch. The Bled itself is special enough, but to finish the walk around the lake in such authentic restaurant like this one it's very special indeed. I loved the modern versions of the meals that forefathers once ate. Every dish deserves to be mentioned because here everything is delicious, but who would read long list? Well if you want to you can check mine blog (to the name just add .com :)), cuz I did it! In short, I think that typical regional breakfast, served in an eggshell does leave an impression. The filling was deliciously seasoned and made of “polenta” which is a corn mash, egg yolk, rinds and potato foam and crispy bacon on top. This would be one delicious breakfast to eat every day for longer period, as it was so delicious that I scraped out everything and even damaged the shell a little :)
For even shorter description is all I can say: Delicious!

We happened upon this place by chance whilst cycling from lake bled to Ljubljana as the gorgeous Terrace caught our eye. We thought it might have been quite expensive as it has that quality air but it is extremely good value - we had a three course menu for €9 and it was delicious! We were very hungry cyclists and by the end of the meal we had had more than out fill. Good hearty Slovenian lunch and our waiter (Milan) was lovely, friendly and very professional. I would wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone and everyone. Make sure you stop here if you find yourself on this road!

Gostilna Kunstelj is a traditional Slovenian restaurant that serves only fresh, local food / mainly grown on our garden. It is a family owned restaurant, opened since 1873! We are served only fresh and seasonal food and indulge in a laid back and relaxed atmosphere. Gostilna Kunstelj enjoys simple pleasures of life, values family and tradition and honors genuine hospitality. You are very welcome to visit us :)
Went with family and had a variety of mains and Deserts, everything was fabulous and the staff were great. Would highly recommend as a local, authentic lunch or dinner!

We went there for lunch on our way to Bled, since its only a few minutes away. Our canyoning guide suggested us this restaurant and I can say it was worth it!! Service was excellent and the waiters spoke English. Me and my boyfriend both ordered risotto (chicken risotto and, shrimp risotto) and all I can say is that food is presented very nicely and its delicious!! You must also try the Slovenian Jabolcni Tat cider which is also really good. A must visit! :) Forgot to mention that this restaurant has a Terrace with a beautiful view!

If you are looking for excellent pizza, look no further! Seriously. I can say that I know pizza very well.
We regularly visit "Pizzerija pod Gradom". The restaurant has an old world atmosphere with pizzas baking in the wood burning oven. We enjoy sitting in the garden in the spring, summer, and fall. There is a nearby playground where children can play, still in view from the garden Seating.
The service by the proprietor is always impeccable and with a wholehearted smile. They have just renovated the premises and the food is clean and fresh. We love the fact that we can talk and hear each other even when majority of the tables are occupied. Pizzeria pod Gradom is worth returning to... over and over again.
Note that they offer a lunch menu on weekdays with large pizzas priced under 7 Euro.
Enjoy your meal or as Slovenians would say "Dober tek!".
A tip: Try chilled local cola product and local beer (bottled and on tap) with your delicious pizza.

Since renovation quality dropped and prices became higher. Before the renovation in was the place to go in Škofja Loka, but now they became a "fancy" restaurant, local traditional cuisine, once excellent, is now only a pale shadow of itself. Last week I went there and I had to wait a good hour for food. Spare ribbs were dry and overcooked. Only the atmosphere in the restaurant is better than before.

This was the best meal my friend and I had in Slovenia. What a pleasant surprise to discover this restaurant in Kranj, when we happened to stay nearby at an apt overnight because it's closeness to the airport.
Food was amazing and very creatively presented. They gave us complementary chocolate truffles and fruits at the end, which was a nice touch. Staff was friendly.
The only suggestion I have if for them to dim the lighting! It would make for a more cosy ambiance. The decor inside with the blue nautical cushions and bright lights don't fit the external image of the traditional little Slovenian house. Just a small suggestion!
