The food at this restaurant is good but the atmosphere is a bit dull. My husband & I thoroughly enjoyed the asparagus risotto with black truffle. Good service by the wait staff but we both commented that the restaurant has no atmosphere. The restaurant was half full so perhaps it is more lively & fun on busy nights. Too quiet. Perhaps they are trying to appeal to older clientele.

This Italian restaurant is located in the middle of the pedestrian only main street of Gstaad and has been operating for some considerable time now - some 20+ years. Good food and attentive service and perfect to be outside on the Terrace when the sun is out. Decent menu with daily specials and a good wine list. Not inexpensive but nevertheless good value. Definitely worth a visit based on our recent meal there and blankets are available if required to keep you warm. All the dishes we had were very nice although the only negative comment is that the portions served were a little on the small side - OK for lunch perhaps but maybe not at dinner.!!

I recommend this restaurant very highly. We went last week while visiting Gstaad. They offered a choice of seafood that had been caught earlier in the morning and flown in from France. As we live near the ocean in the US, we mostly avoided seafood while inland in Europe, but this was truly fresh! The amuse bouche

Very disappointing overall for this Relais et Châteaux. To start with the positive, the setting is very charming and the decor Mountain Swiss Chalet, casual chic. The service was also good and the Maitre D professional and courteous. Unfortunately this is where it stops as the food is a complete miss.
We picked a terrine de lapereau (rabbit paté) which ended up being a spring roll of something served in a citrus concoction. We had no idea what it was but certainly not a terrine. They should not call a dish something it is not. I understand the new cuisine "wannabe original" but it was a miss in what it was supposed to be and was nothing special. We continued with the main course which was ok (filet of veal) but nothing to rave about. We then ordered le Moelleux au chocolat; the moelleux came dry and overcooked and had to be returned. Unacceptable for such a common dessert; we were surprised that it was a complete miss. The Maitre D was quite shocked himself and apologetic when he saw what was served and were not charged for the dessert.
I only hope that it was a bad day for the Chef, but at this level such a miss is unbelievable; he was certainly not overwhelmed as they were only two tables being served. I am rating Azalee as poor instead of terrible to give them the credit of the doubt that it was a miss on their part. One more visit in the future and I will review it again, but for now this place does not deserve a Relais et Chateaux rating as far as what is being served in the plate and I would expect some updating of their rating.

Continues to be absolutely fabulous in every possible way! First but not last visit this summer dinner on the Terrace is simply sublime best view in the area. The food is wonderful with a perfect standard that never let's the restaurant down everything is kept perfectly.
Would recommend to anyone visiting the area will not be disappointed.
Owners and staff look after all guests with a wonderful smile and always full attention.

Don't miss the ''Sammy's Bar'', great ambiance , good food , nice selection of drinks. The perfect after ski hideaway to spend the evening with friend or loved one. Martin will welcome you and share his passion for this magnificent region and share a few secrets. Don't be surprise to come across some celebrities this is one of their spot. A place to visit and visit again.

Beatiful location and surroundings, a perfect place for relaxation, the hotel offered many ammenities. Even though commerce closed on sundays many stores, and places to visit

There is some confusion with the two hotels.One hotel is in Saanenmoeser and one is on top of the Hornberg called Berghotel.The first one is a brilliant hotel cum restaurant with lovely food and great service.Views are to die for.The second is an average hotel with average food and not worth the visit unless you are hiking in the region.

Yes it is Gstaad, so its expensive, but that being said, the food we had was very average.
