The tables are really close together here, and our visit was rather spoiled by someone smoking at table next to us and blowing her smoke straight towards my husband. He never complains about anything but did eventually have to say something to her. She did then blow her smoke in a different direction but didn't apologise. Fortunately the closeness of the tables also had a positive aspect as we had a nice chat to the people on the table on the other side. The food was fine but not really memorable.

First thing to note this place is not in Sao Teotonio - it's in Brejao, off the road in the way to Odeceixe from Sao Teotonio. I should really have mentioned this in my first review! It's just before the crossroads in Brejao, there is a large parking area opposite. Anyway - this is a very reliable locals restaurant that does good unpretentious food, cooked well and with good service. Helpfully it has an English menu too. It has nothing to sell it in terms of location or view, but fish dishes are tasty and the meat is very good quality. They have nice half bottles of wine too which is handy if only one of you is drinking. For price and quality, it is far better than some of the other more pricey restaurants in the area. Highly recommend.

Very typical place with very good food. Fresh fish and homemade cooking.
We were lucky, usually the place is too crowded and it's difficult to find table without reservation, but just when we arrived, a table was free.
We hade Porco a alentejada, Feijoada with octopus and squid, and grilled fish. One bottle of wine and coffees.
Everything well cooked and tasty. Good customer service (not so usual in Portugal).

I write this review to help the extremely kind staff of this restaurant. The restaurant must indeed be extremely good. We arrived at 12:15 on a Saturday during the touristic high season. This is not normal time to have lunch in Portugal, especially on a Saturday, but I guess our intuition was on to something before we knew for sure. We found out that there was no chance of having lunch that day... There were no less than 60 people on a waiting list. The room takes 30. It's easy to imagine the waiting time. Understandably, the restaurant takes no Reservations. The only way to eat avoiding a long wait is to arrive pretty early. I overheard people talking about 11:00ish. This is simply crazy! Since this is an authentic touristic cul de sac, we ordered some cold food from the bar and converted it in our lunch. It was very good.
So, please, stop coming here during high season. The poor staff cannot handled it anymore.

We were having an enjoyable evening up until the end when the blonde waitress got up in my face and pointed her finger at me to tell me to sit and wait patiently for my bill. This was after I politely asked her to check on our bill after waiting for 15min with no response. We had already accepted the fact that half the menu was not available to be ordered and that she knew little to nothing about the items on the menu when we asked, she was probably new. But just because she is in a bad mood doesn't warrant her being rude to me and giving me attitude. The other more experienced waitress was very nice to us on the other hand and it's a shame her colleague does not have the same temperament.

We arrived at Retiro do Adelino on a late June afternoon and wanted to eat just a salad as we were not too hungry.
We had Feijoada, salad, bread, water and a soup. And I have to admit: it was fantastic.
The Feijoada came in a huge pot enough for two, with beans, chorizou sausage, rice and some shrimps. Very tasty. The salad was fresh made and huge.
The location is nicely decorated, clean and with a modern interior. Service personnel was friendly and spoke English fluently.
The biggest surprise came with the bill: 17 Euro! A real bargain. Compared to other restaurants we visited on our journey this one combined very good quality and fair price for honest home made food.
Keep up the good work.

My experience in kainoprato was very pleasant. We order two meat dishes. Each of one better than the other one. Tasty and beautifully presented. The service was very good.
The Deserts were very original, mainly the orange syrup and the peanut butter/chocolate one... yam yam.
The price was according with quality, not cheap but a good value for the money...

Allthough Rogil is a sleepy little village with not much going on besides the gasstation, this place took us by surprise!
Once you go in, you have all these shelves with local products. Wine, honey, oils, liquors... they serve local pastries like sweet potato with almond, but you can also have chocolate cake if you want.
But the biggest surprise is the garden. Behind the big restaurant, there is a huge garden. There is a playground for kids in the back. Which is not noisy for the other guests. In the garden are small huts with tables to have diner or lunch.
We sat down on a saturday night. There was life music, the place was full. And the food was actially quite good! The service was great! When we paid and left, the waiter (owner?) cheered with us a sweet local liquor.
We enjoyed this a lot, biggest surprise in the area!

Pao do Rogil

Bread, cakes and cookies baked in wood oven. A place for breakfast, lunch, brunch, snacks and dinner, to eat in or take away, to have a salad, a soup, a Sandwich or a pie... With two terraces with a kids corner to enjoy the sun of Costa Vicentina!

It was an old bakery that was transformed in a very modern space, with a clean environment and a good place to relax in the way to Algarve.
In gastronomic terms the sweet potato bread, the "pasteis de alfaroba" and "pasteis batata doce" are the brand images of this place.
Excellent bakery and pastry with innovative products and recipes with great variety of sweets, jams, jellies and alternative flavors. Light meals also available.
High prices on some products (example: pies € 1.90 / each). Sometimes in Summer service can be slow due the huge number of clients, but always with a great sympathy of the staff and owner.
Recommended stop on the way, in the middle of Rogil village.
