Mrągowo [mrɔŋˈɡɔvɔ] (from 1945-1947: Polish: Żądźbork [ˈʐɔɲd͡ʑbɔrk]; German: Sensburg (help·info)) is a town in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship of northeastern Poland, the capital of Mrągowo County and the seat (though not part of) the Gmina Mrągowo. It is located within the Masurian Lake District, about 60 km (37 mi) east of Olsztyn.

20 years ago I used to be regular visitor here (but that time it was Polish Orbis, not French Mercure!). One of the reasons I was organisig trainings here was the food.
Not 2 days spend and breakfast are just "regular", nothing special for 4* and the price for the room. But dinner buffets were just terrible. Uncooked or overcooked, no taste, no "soul". Definitely prefer the kitchen 20 years ago.

Well they have good direction.We asked for 4 courses and only one was really good-greek salad,bravo for the sauce! Bruschetta was on old bread and spaghetti pomodoro wasnt tasty.pizza was decent.please make it better cause you have a nice place there:)

A unique restaurant that brings a warm and family-feel atmosphere. The building had been restored and perfectly captures the rich history of the area. The menu offers a wide range of Polish delights both traditional and modern. The food was impeccable, good sized potions and well priced. We had a family dinner here, and very quickly, 3 hours had passed. Highly recommend.

After a shopping trip, which went along the normal lines- my girlfriend bought plenty & I got the square root of rock all- we stopped here for zander and chips.
Served with a salad & Tyskie beer, in the Sunshine, with me batting off the wasps using a new pair of shoes from one of the shopping bags, we had a very fulfilling hour.
The girl serving us was lovely, too.
Must come again when I'm next here!

We stayed for nine days at the Mazury Syrenka on the river. It was idealic. The river is peaceful and beautiful. The village is well kept and has one sklep(store). It has an open air market that sells Polish wares as well as a large Boleslaweic pottery selection at good prices.
There is a natural science museum and an area that has 12 storks that can be seen up close and at eye level. The english speaking woman who works at the Parks office- Martina is very infomative and delightful. There are large signs by the office that show the biking and walking trails. Maps are also available.

The restaurant is perfect for a nice summer day or evening, having a great view onto the lake. The fish was fresh and well prepared, the waitress recommended the bst dish. Prices are not low, but adequate to the quality. The restaurant is adapted for persons moving on wheelchairs.

Bar- restaurant "Cottage Mazury " was completed and put into operation in May 1991 . We are located in the center of the main pedestrian street and the lake itself Mragowa Czos . Our specialty became the fried fish and pizza , which are located on our menu from the very beginning of the premises. We invite you to family dinners . We have 60 seats in place and about 100 seats on the Terrace overlooking the lake Czos . We cordially invite you to a delicious fish every day of our lakes , fried according to old recipes and best spices. In our menu, we also have a traditional dinner sets , as well as from our region.

It lies very near the lake, the prices are "polishly good" and the barszcz is actually quite good for my tastes. The waitress was quite inexperienced but very sweet and nice. The dinner all in all was pleasant and the cuisine was good.

Well, I'm just back from another visit to the wonderful metropolis that is Mragowo, and another visit to this lakeside restaurant.
This was the best meal I've had here, ever, if I'm honest- it wasn't spectacularly complicated stuff and, unusually for me, I had a night of food which wasn't traditionally Polish; I had shrimps in a hot sauce on a bed of lettuce to start and then something quite absurd happened (and nothing to do with the Tyskie I was drinking either); I had the finest pizza I've ever tasted (and I've got Italy amongst the 25 countries I've dined in).
The stone baked base was strikingly original in that you just could tell this was a hand crafted beast- parts slightly crisper than other, the texture wholly uneven, it was one of a kind.
It was smothered, again unevenly, with simple ingredients, just cheese, ham, a bit of mushroom, but all this just added to it's allure.
I crowed over my find too lustily however as girlfriend & girlfriend's son demanded a piece of the action and received a slice each (I did get a piece of girlfriend's pierogi in return, which was the best pierogi I've ever had, by a country mile).
It was almost a blessing I had charitably sacrificed 2 pieces of the best pizza known to man because I (unlike the girlfriend) had room for another excellent piece of culinary wizardry, as I scoffed my raspberry cheesecake type dessert, whilst she could only watch on like a dog eyeing up a bone in next door's garden.
There was a fourth diner, the girlfriend's son's girlfriend, and she made the opinion unanimous that we'd bagged a super meal!
