Kaikaya

We went there with a large group of people roughly 18. Very casual atomosphere, like an English pub, small tables with a lot of people squeezing in each other. Foods were mostly fish with a lots of varieties and fresh Wasabi (realy Wasabi so not so hot compared to normal tubed one with conservatives..). Sake was very nice pouring into a small glass with a box underneath (can you guess how to drink it?). Actually staff is pouring over the glass into the box so that you can drink a bit more! Finally cherry blossom icecream was awsome. Anyway, I would truly recommend the restaurant to non-Japanese tourists. Have fun!

Yes it's a very expensive night out - around $800 per person for the full dego including wines, but it's a once in a lifetime-style experience.
Beautiful building and intimate ambience, faultless and professional service, and immaculate food combinations. A focus on seafood and fresh salad elements, it's an amazing assault on the palate that leaves you reeling.
Wow!

Tonki

Just corrected the opening hours for this entry (which stated closed Monday, open Tuesday) after finding the place closed. It was great when I last went there 20 years ago, so I’m sure it is still fine. Went instead to Tonkatsu Taiho down the hill, which is pretty fine too - had to line up for 30 minutes, but had a nice chat with an elderly local couple who thought Taiho better than Tonki!
TripAdvisor entry format doesn’t allow it, but note that Tonki is also closed the 3rd Monday of each month.

Met up for lunch here with some old friends. We had our own room for Tempanyaki, and all of the food, even the sashimi starter, was amazingly good. Our Chef, Machida-San cooked everything to absolute perfection. The children's burgers were also delicious. For desert, we moved to an area used for afternoon tea, you have a choice of one dish then several small items off a desert trolley. All scrumptious! Admittedly not cheap but I would honestly say very good value for the quality of food and great experience that we had. When we're next in Tokyo, we will return for sure. Thank you very much!

I'm used to be dragged across foreign cities in search of restaurants that my wife has found through recommendation but Mahakala was definitely worth the 20 minute walk - it's a really special place. Fantastic & authentic street style food, a cosy atmosphere & lovely staff who were v accommodating of our lack of spoken Japanese and my wife's vegetarian requirements. Can personally recommend the special pancakes, all of the fried skewers you can eat, the purple yam pudding & the White Oak whiskey went down well at the end too. If you are in Tokyo this place is not to be missed!

I went there with my family for lunch. We need to queue about half an hour. But it really is worth the queue. There's a sign that suggests to go to other Ichiran place, but at that time we still need to go around Shibuya so we decided to wait. For me it's the first time eating in that kind of place. Self service (the vending machine thing) and also private Seating. It's perfect for solo travelers who want some privacy. The noodle itself is very tasty and rich in broth. You can order extra noodle or dessert when you are already inside. Experience checked, tasty infamous noodle checked

This place top the list of my favourite cafes in Japan. It's inside Aoyama flower shop near Omotesando. The interior is nicely decorated with seasonal flowers as if we're sitting in a garden and the matching menu is also beautifully presented with floral theme. It'd be perfect for afternoon tea.
I came for brunch and enjoyed the flower french toast. It's not only look pretty but also tasted really good. To avoid long queue, come just before the cafe open. I got a seat straight away. By the time I finished my brunch, the queue was already quite long.
I would highly recommend this cafe. Definitely a must visit!

A great place which we stumbled across by accident. First thing-this place hurts the back pocket. Because of that we only took one expensive cut of meat, a cheap one and the pork. Forget the pork. It was fatty and inferior compared to the beef. The beef was melt in your mouth. My only complaint is they brought out the expensive cut first and our palette was spoilt by the cheaper choices that followed. The staff were attentive and quick. A great place if you’re not on a budget

Found this place via the amazing recommendations from other Trip Advisor users! Find the set of lanterns, Walk down the stairs directly from the street and open the sliding wooden door. Cozy place and amazing food! It seems to be popular with locals, but they are extremely accommodating to foreigners with an English menu complete with photos and an explanation of how to make the most of your yakitori experience. Would highly recommend! Don't need Reservations, but arrive before 7:30 to ensure you get a seat!
