Have not visited this hotel for many years, but the quality of the meals are still the same as I remembered. Ample Seating are in the bar, and also a restaurant are as well. Our Visit to the Clatterin Brig Tapas Night last night was a very enjoyable experience. My husband assured me that the Sangria was excellent and our food was very tasty with, in my opinion, just the right amount of heat! We shared several different dishes and transported back to Spain with the added touch of Spanish music playing in the background. Pity the temperature outside wasn't similar to that of Spain( it was -3C) but it was nice and cosy inside the restaurant. Well done to all of the staff for a great evening.

We stayed here for a family christening, we had a meal the night before which was beautiful sizes were big and lots to choose from. The rooms were stunning had everything in them, a sofa, chair, all the amenities you needed. The bed was a good size and very comfy. The next day we went to the christening then back for a lunch again which was lovely. The Gardens off one of the function suites was lovely and plenty of room for the children to run about. Would highly recommend and I would stay here again definitely.

Brechin's foremost real ale pub & restaurant. In CAMRA's Good Beer Guide since 2005. Great food freshly prepared by our chef Stephen Field served in the relaxing and welcoming environment of our large wood-and-stone open-plan bar/dining area. A great selection of quality drinks on offer including wines, Belgian beers, Scottish cask ales and malt whiskies ideal to accompany a meal or to enjoy on their own.

Decided to give this place a visit as we were nearby( and saw it was receiving good reviews on Trip Advisor) - and very glad we did too.
Very traditional Scottish interior - cosy with wooden furniture and interesting displays to look at.
Opted to go for the Early Bird Menu - an extremely reasonable £13 for 2 courses off a special menu, and I think it's a few pounds extra for the full oinky 3 courses.
I chose the haggis fritters for starters & partner had the battered mushrooms. Both were very tasty and we demolished them rapidly. However, I will say they were extremely filling because when the main course came ,which was Haddock Goujons with salad and chips, we really struggled to do it justice.Perhaps ordering two courses of deep fried food was a mistake, but we'll choose more wisely next time, and we certainly intend to go back.
The manager ,Manuel, was charming, attentive and solicitous - and we hope to attend to one of his upcoming Tapas evenings to sample Spanish delicacies.

Went for lunch with my husband. He had a lovely bacon and egg roll. I had a quiche with salad and potatoes which is one of my favourites. Unfortunately the quiche portion seems to have shrunk and the potatoes were black and I could not eat them. When the girl took our plates I did complain but nothing was said by the owner or done about it. Cake and coffee nice as usual. Hope this was just a hiccup as usually this is a nice place to eat.

Very quaint family run pub. We stopped in for lunch and the kids were made more than welcome and allowed to use the pool table(with supervision). Meals were large and home cooked- lovely. We had a rNge of meals from soup to curries and all were extremely well presented and all the family thoroughly enjoyed the food. The sticke date pudding was particularly delicious.
