The food was EXCELLENT! Most friendly waiters in all of France. BEST VALUE of any of the many restaurants we are at in France. The attitudes of all of the servers were so accommodating, unlike many of the other more expensive "snooty" places.
Free complimentary farewell drink.

Went on a short Gourmet Cruise with Brittany Ferries.Drove from St.Malo to Cancale on a most beautiful day,arriving at the Cote Mer for lunch.This restaurant has a wonderful setting with lovely scenery across the bay, and a fabulous meal to go with it.
Restaurant exceptionally clean,staff very pleasant and look forward to visiting again in the future.

We are just finishing two wonderful weeks in the St. Malo region of France. Finished today with a hike into Canales for some fresh mussels for lunch. We attempted to eat at this restaurant but the man at the door was incredibly rude. He was insisting on people waiting although there were many obviously open tables. He was more worried about the placement of his stands blocking the entrance to 'control the crowds'. After the third rude comment to us (an implication that we didn't understand as we were English, actually Canadian) we chose to go elsewhere. Two doors down at Au Rocher de Cancale we were treated graciously and had some wonderful food.

We've stopped by after having tasted so many fresh oysters at Marché aux huîtres. Neither of us wanted to have a fancy meal at the restaurant, but some carbs would be nice for a change :) The galettes were tasty, fresh, like homemade, the service...MoreThank you for your friendly message. We went to Cancale to try the famous flat oysters.At the stand next to the restaurant,we chose our oysters and they were then opened for us.Delicious and a very distinctive taste.What a joy sitting on the rocks watching the harvesting of the oyster beds and throwing a few shells to waiting sea birds.A memorable experience!!!!!Marianne

We have eaten here before but the Restaurant has changed management since then and has been decorated in very relaxing soft tones. The welcome was only surpassed by the wonderful views over the bay towards Mont St Michel. The food was well prepared and presented with friendly service that enhanced the experience. This Restaurant is well worth a visit but booking in advance may be wise as it is small. This rates as the best Restaurant in Cancale for us.

We quite disliked the dime a dozen identical restaurants in the Cancale's harbour area, but this place up on the hill had a soul and decent food to boot. Truly original and high quality seafood without all the pomposity you usually get in French restaurants. Fish soup is great here.

As it offers only galettes and crepes, breizh cafe proposes a large choice of fillings, such as ones with seaweed, others with unbelievable vegetables or even oysters! The best thing you can do is trying! Enjoy a warm dinner out in this cosy restaurant where waiters show attention and cooks have a fast "flick of the wrist" ! :)

We had done the oyster experience earlier and didn't make Reservations for dinner, but it turned out well. The two places we had considered were fully booked including the hotel where we were staying. We wandered down the street a bit and found Au Vieux Safran. No white tablecloths and quiet dining here. But wonderful food, great service and a chance to meet several couples who sat nearby. Lots of talking and laughing. Everyone sharing stories of travels. Fun and some amazing food! We ordered two different kinds of mussels and some other items as well. Everything was excellent. It was a wonderful dinner.

Great spot fir an inexpensive lunch. With incredible rice pudding. Could have been the best I have ever had snd nice efficient service with. Easy to handle prices. Located just off Main Street offers a good option for all. Nice crowd of people here as well
