Traditional restaurant next to the museum, a 19th century farmhouse. Professional waiters in local uniform. Famous for smoked eel. Hearty dishes e.g. "Spieker Special": smoked eel, fried potatoes and scrambled eggs. Generous portions, rustic style. Guests are a mixture of the local crowd and tourists. Prices are moderate and food is of good quality. Reservations highly recommended.

This was recommended by our local friends as their special occasion place, and it was super. Lovely food; my lamb was delicious. Next time I'll try the famous smoked eel. Very atmospheric, as you may see from the antlers on the walls.

Das Regulator liegt direkt am Boulevard von Bad Zwischenahn. Man sitzt auch draußen und kann gut die Leute beobachten. Direkt gegenüber ist der Park und das Meer. Das Schnitzel mit Pfifferlingen war sehr lecker. Moderate Preise. Freundliche Bedienung. Immer wieder gern.

We went to this typical German restaurant with my German cousins, who live nearby. It's one of their favorites and is near Hotel Hof Von Bothmer, where we stayed. The cuisine was German, of course, but there was something for everyone. It's in an old thatched building and interior décor is old fashioned. The dining room is filled with antiques and the wait staff wears regional costumes.

çok lezzetli!
Ich habe selten so frisch und lecker gegessen. Der Service ist zuvorkommend, denkt mit, und ist bemüht dem Gast einen netten Abend zu bereiten.
Aus der Küche kamen auf unseren Tisch ausschließlich frische, perfekt zubereitete, türkische Gerichte. Hier wird scheinbar aus Leidenschaft gekocht!
Eine absolute Besucher Empfehlung.
Wer hier weniger als 4 Sterne vergibt, hatte bestimmt persönliche Sorgen, am Essen oder am Service kann es meiner Meinung nach nicht gelegen haben.
Weiter so, ich komme bestimmt bald wieder!

As a British visiting family, we thought we were in for a treat with this restaurant, but how wrong we were. The service (to us) was appalling. Whilst local customers came and went, we waited about an hour and a half for our main course. We were quizzed where we were from, and why we were there, and it made us feel extremely unwelcome. As time marched on and my two young boys were getting hungry and fed up I tried to ask a waiter where the food was, and he walked away. At last food arrived. My pizza seemed to have raw aubergine and courgette on it - quite inedible. The pasta was ok. On paying, they took my credit card away from the table (very bad form) and there was much discussion about it before they finally took payment. Unlike the other local customers we were not offered any of the niceties at bill time - such as complimentary sweets etc. A thoroughly miserable place to eat with inhospitable and bad mannered hosts - avoid like the plague.

Während unseres Aufenthalts in Bad Zwischenahn hatten wir das große Vergnügen mit Freunden ein wunderbares Abendessen genießen zu können. Wir hatten Gänsebraten in vollkommener Perfektion. Es war einfach super und so gut, wie ich es vorher noch nie erleben durfte. Der Service, die Weinberatung, absolute Klasse!

I had a very well cooked pork chop, but that was the only thing on the menu - apart from fish - with proper potatoes. If I wanted mash or semolina I would make it at home. The menu was slightly pretentious and very expensive.
Quality of the food was fine, and service adequate. There is a warning in the menu that eels take 30 minutes to cook. There is no warning aginst my pork chop, but it took an hour from being ordered.

Auch beim zweiten Besuch dasselbe Ärgernis: Die Bar ist am Sonntag und Montag geschlossen. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist umfangreich, es fehlt leider frisch gepresster Orangensaft. Bei der Buchung darauf achten, dass das Zimmer nicht zum Parkplatz liegt. Zimmerpreise sind ohne Frühstück!
