Zur Alm is a restaurant with a beautiful view above the oldest part of the town. From the big terrace you can see the old church among even older 'Fachwerkhäuser'. Typical German. Without disturbing traffic the terrace is an island of quietness. Inside there are enough tables for rainy days. The furniture is a little bit old fashioned. Don't expect 'haute cuisine', but the food is reasonable. There are even vegetarian dishes on the menu. During the asparagus season I can recommend every asparagus dish. The restaurant is suitable for gatherings. They serve the delicious 'Warburger Urtyp' beer, brewed and drunken exclusively in Warburg. Try this beer on a warm summer evening on the terrace of 'Zur Alm'. How can you find it. Simply go from the church in de new town to the church of the old town. Halfway you find 'Zur Alm' directly underneath the evangelic church 'Maria im Weinberg' and the Gymnasium Marianum.

We ate here when stopping nearby. We wished we had arrived earlier as we rushed more than this level of service and ambience deserves. We chose tasty local dishes and the vegetarian was as happy as the meat eater, Good service. Prices reflected the quality of the food and the location in rural Germany.A village location but only a few kilometres from Warburg and the main road, route 44

I really enjoyed my evening at Fruhauf! The restaurant has a really cosy atmosphere with the medieval decoration. I ordered the feta cheese beef burger and tiramisu and the massive portions were absolutely delicious! I will definately be going back!
