During our stay, on the advice of our holiday rep, we decided to visit this restaurant for our lunch. Our first experience was to cross the Lake from Zell am See to Thumersbach arriving at the park on the north end of the village. Our walk took us through the park, across the main road and then a steep climb through woods, fields and along some roads to the Mitterberghof. If the weather allows, you have the most wonderful view back across the lake to Zell while you dine on the terrace in front of the restaurant. We arrived at 1230 and the terrace was nearly full, most of the diners having driven up the hill to find their lunch. We enjoyed a fantastic platter of mixed meats and cheeses and also shared a mixed salad. Service was very prompt and we were met by cheerful staff. Thoroughly recommended but to really enjoy the experience you really need to earn your lunch by walking up from the Lake!

This is a must go too âbucket listâ venue for dinner. Yes, the apres ski party is lively early evening but the management close the Restaurant from 6pm and make it nice and cosy for dinner at 7:30 and wow what a dinner experience. Book early.

This restaurant is just by the top of the lift so is very convenient when ski touring. It was very comfortable, quite busy, but easy to get tables. The service was very quick and the drinks were good.Might come back for lunch as the menu looked good.

Half way down the slope you'll find the Maisalm. Seated in the sun in a lounge set with an Apfelstrüdel with ice...difficult to get up and go again. I've heard good stories about their pizza's as well but we'll have to try that another time...friendly service as well..not to be forgotten. We ate here quite a few times as it is a favourite with the ski schools so it was great to meet up with the kids at lunchtimes in this beautiful piste-side restaurant. Bar is cosy and warm, food is delish and service is impeccable. Will definitely be back!

We stayed with friends on a ski trip to Maishofen, the Gasthof - Restaurant Zur Post was excellent: friendly staff, good food & wine and ambience. We had an great evening and would certainly go back when in the area.

During our week skiing in Zell am See we had our best lunch here. The service and staff were impeccable, really welcoming.The food was hearty, freshly cooked local cuisine and all very fresh. The cost was similar to everywhere else on the mountain. Great views over the lake from the outdoor sun terrace. Do make the effort to ski over to here as you won't be disappointed.Thank you very much for the nice assessment :)

We have spent a nice evening at Steinerwirt. You can either sit inside or if it is warm enough outside at the beautiful terrace under the trees. We had some Austrian dishes such as - Flädlesuppe- Kasnocken- Beef TartareAll of it very yummieh!The service was friendly and fast.Dear svk1201,thank you for your visit at our restaurant and the nice review. All ski-mountain huts in Austria and Germany seem to be similar - same sort of menu full of high-calorie ski-fuel, good friendly, quick & efficient service, immaculately clean including the toilets. Really - they're all fantastic.This one is a little bit special even then - a little bigger, better food, and beautiful slightly quirky fit-out (down to the gents toilets looking out on the ski slope - I hope it's one-way glass!).It was a bit more expensive than I expected though.
