The Location is Fantastic. The sun sets over the lake and there is a garden from the terrace down to it. Many of the sea side hotels and restaurant face north east into the Baltic and do not catch the sunset as well as here. Good, large portions of local cuisine. Fish of course and salads. Good bier vom fass! A main course is sufficient. We turned up without a reservation on Saturday night and were lucky to be given a table reserved for a no-show.

Its fish and the Zander was excellent. Fresh. And Uwe's kitchen does know the preparation. Great skin. Everything else is deco, the beer, the potatoes, the sauces (be warned of Pommersche Sauce). Not important, as you want fish, come for fish, eat fish and remember it for fish. So go. Truely traditional fish place.

Die sturmfest in Blech eingeschlagene Karte bietet das Beste aus der Esskultur der erweiterten Region.Das Ambiente ist stilvoll. Lautstärke ist die Schwachstelle des Deutschen Hauses. Wir sitzen im vorderen Bereich. Ständig geht das Telefon, eine laute zehntönige Tonfolge aus den 80ern. Das nervt schnell - besonders, weil das zahlreich vorhandene Personal, dass sich (oft ohne erkennbare Aufgabe) in Telefonnähe aufhält, nur sehr zögerlich geneigt ist, den Anruf auch tatsächlich anzunehmen.Wir erwägen einen Tischwechsel, aber in den beiden anderen, groÃen Gasträumen ist es noch viel lauter. Für ein lauschiges Date, oder auch nur ein Essen mit Menschen, mit denen man sich etwas zu sagen hat, ist das leider nicht zu empfehlen. Aber wenn es nicht gerade in Telefonnähe chillt, ist das Personal freundlich und aufmerksam.Umso besser ist das Essen. Ich wähle die "Gemischte Fischplatte - verschiedene Ostseefisch-Filets in Butter gebraten, je nach Tagesfang" - sehr lecker. Wie so oft ist die Wahl meiner Begleitung noch besser. Ich vermute ja schon lange, dass es sich dabei wie mit den unterschiedlich langen Schlangen an der Supermarktkasse verhält: Die andere ist immer schneller. Zurück zum Essen. Die Architektin hat einen anderen Fisch, und insbesondere die Senfsauce ist zum Hineinlegen.Damit nicht genug. Das Dessert setzt noch mal einen drauf: "Zimtpflaumen mit Walnusseis und Sahne", sowie "GrieÃ-Flammerie mit Erdbeer-Rhabarber-Kompott und Sahne" sind einfach perfekt. Daher, trotz Lärm, verdiente fünf Sterne.

True to its name, the restaurant is small. Better make a reservation. Food was nice,tasty and fresh (my partner and i both had fish) however a little expensive in comparison and not extraordinary. The service was very fast and quick, but in my opinion lacked a smile. From my perspective, the place also lacks a little atmosphere, but we only sat outside, so maybe inside its all nice and lovely. Summarizing, you are not doing anything wrong if you go there for dinner.

Nice Restaurant in the Center of Zinnowitz.Friendly service and good relation service/price. We took the Steinbutt/Turbot which was amazing. Unfortunately the potatoes were not of a good quality. As starter we had ordered fish soup which never arrived.Definitely one of the best places in Zinnowitz for a fresh fish meal.

During our holidays that we spent in Heringsdorf/Usedom in July 2013 and a second short stay in August 2013 we ate 4 times at Carl's Kneipe, including my birthday-dinner : ) It is simply the best. I'm severly addicted to fried eel, turbot (Steinbutt), codfish in mustard-sauce (Dorsch in Senfsauce)... We already enjoyed this restaurant several years ago. You have to try it. Amiable service. My partner treated me to a birthday dinner at this nicely situated reastaurant, overlooking the "Achterwasser", a big inlet of the Baltic Sea, typical for this coast. We had a platter of local specialities for starter, very hearty and fresh. Despite being sensible people, we ate all of it, knowing that we might not be able to finish our respective main courses. My fish dish was perfect, as was my partner's meat equivalent. Service was friendly and professional and the whole atmosphere in the restaurant felt very positive. Tables were not set too close to one another, allowing a conversation without fearing eaves dropping neighbouring tables. I would definitely come back without hesitation, even if they raised the prices by 50% - that says it all!

Really great fish restaurant - and they have a menu in English. Wide variety of fish available including eels (which were delicious). Lovely courtyard garden outdoors eating area, which is also very sheltered. Very friendly staff.

Not easy to find but worth the effort.Like most small restaurant they have two sittings, no menu just recommendations from the daily catch. We selected a whole Zander which arrived sizzeling in a large iron-frying pan and was great no bones!!.They feature an extensive wine list. Ample parking a bit further on the fields.We will be back with friends.
