Alle waren begeistert! Nach einer Wanderung sind wir in die Waldschänke eingekehrt. Uns wurde ein leckeres Essen serviert inklusive einer selbstgebackenen Geburtstagstorte. Backen ist überhaupt die Spezialität des Restaurants - aber alles war topp! Danke!!

Mein Mann hatte sich aus der Speisekarte eine Sülze ausgesucht und ich von der Tageskarte ein Pastagericht. Beide Gerichte jeweils unter 10 â¬. Die Speisen waren reichhaltig und schmackhaft.

The apartment is clean and well equipped and in a superb, quiet location with adjacent forest and abundant wildlife, especially birds including nuthatch, woodpeckers, flycatchers and many varieties of raptor - although we also saw red squirrels, wild boar, deer and possibly the largest hare in the world! There is off-road parking. The vast expanse of heather covered moorland of the Nordheide is easily accessible. It is only about a quarter of an hour's drive to Buchholz with its many supermarkets, shops and restaurants, although there are some very good country restaurants nearby. Annegret is a perfect hostess, attentive and accommodating without being in the least intrusive. We had friends visit from Hamburg and she was more than happy to make up two extra beds so they could have a drink and stay the night - no charge. Her large garden is a marvel and designed as a managed wilderness to be a haven for native plants and wildlife, including insects. Such a wild space takes a lot of work and dedication, so Annegret spends quite a few hours every day maintaining it - do ask her to show you around, it's fabulous! All in all one of the very best, and least expensive apartments in which we have stayed - I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Die Bedienung ist sehr bemüht und freundlich. Die Speisekarte ist nicht zu groà und bietet für jeden Geschmack etwas. Die Weinkarte ist etwas zu übersichtlich. Die gewählten Speisen waren von sehr guter Qualität und auf den Punkt gegart. Ein Amuse Gueule hätte die Wertigkeit des Restaurantauftritts mit Sicherheit erhöht. Die Servicekraft beantwortete beim Bezahlen die Frage nach der Akzeptanz von Kreditkarten positiv. Der entsprechende Bezahlversuch endete in einem Desaster, jeder Erklärungsversuch stellte sich als zumindest nicht ganz wahr heraus. Schade, dass die Eindrücke so widersprüchlich waren.

Das Hotel ist groÃzügig, wir hatten die Ferienwohnung, und diese ist sehr groÃ.Es lief einiges schief, am abreisetag war zum Frühstück leider nicht mehr viel da für 3 Personen nur zwei scheiben Käse und zwei scheiben Wurst.

To be honest we were scared because of the 2 existing reviews but still wanted to eat there and it was not a mistake!!Great food - and not that expensive - really nice service personal, we had our dishes quite fast, everything was perfect!!

Henry's Restaurant is a surprisingly good for a hotel restaurant. The interior is somewhat different from a typical German Gasthaus and the menu reflects that same difference. Naturally the basic traditional dishes are served but there are also very nice choices for another kind of tastes. The price level matches well with the portion sizes as well as the quality. The bar is small, but extremely cozy.

We have had brunch here three times now and it is never a disappointment. We had reserved a table (since we were 9) and found the waitress very friendly, the buffet brunch a delight and the whole thing set us up nicely for our visit to the Wildpark itself.

We came here after the Wildpark Schwarze Berge since it was an unexpectedly sunny afternoon. All our cakes and drinks were delicious and the service was good.
