Stepping into a traditional German restaurant like "Zum Siegburger", you are immediately absorbed into the friendly, cosy German ambiance; the proprietor welcomes you and settles you at a nice table and will be bustling to provide you with the menu and a drink, in my case a cold draft Veltins. The rest is history. The schnitzel is perfect, prepared with care from fresh ingredient, the beer is cold and the service is polite, friendly and dedicated. All those factors work together to understand the secret of German restaurants. You will feel at home with plenty of tasty food and cold beer, brought to you by friendly staff. The bill will be moderate. "Gasthof Zum Siegburger" matches all those criteria. To be recommended.

Located inside the hotel compley this is an elegant location to celebrate something or just to enjoy a nice evening. They always offer vegetarian and vegan options. In the evening they even offer a whole vegan menu. Very nice I have to say and a bit ahead compared to the other locations in Geldern and generally in the region of Niederrhein. The only negative point is their buffet. They only recently added vegeatrian options there so I have not tried it yet and always stuck to the a la carte dishes. But my family has tried it several times and there is always something off with the food. Das Essen ist in diesem Restaurant sehr gut nur die Geräuschkulisse gar nicht toll. Auch die Tische werden wegen des regen Zulaufs immer enger gestellt so dass man nur noch 0,5m zum Nebentisch hat. Privatsphäre gleich null. Das Personal war sehr freundlich.

beim versuch die region allmählich auch restauranttechnisch zu entdecken wollten wir kürzlich den hühnerdieb in aldekerk erobern. lt. webseite und auch vor ort konnten konnten wir nicht erkennen was passierte als wir platz genommen hatten (als erste gäste um 18.00 uhr).wir wurden mit dem satz 'wir haben heute "reitertage", es gibt keine warme küche.' wieder hinausbewegt. keine weitere erklärung, keine entschuldigung .... z. b. weil man das ja uns hätte auch früher beim eintritt oder z. b. durch aushang hätte mitteilen können.auch ok. ist das halt als als restaurant nicht geeignet (= ungenügend).

We arrived on a Monday so the restaurant was closed. The room and bathroom were extremely clean, like new. Very comfortable bed. Squeaky floor. Basic breakfast. Extremely helpful and friendly, English speaking and knowledgable lady owner. Expensive compared to other B&B's in Germany, but it might just be the area.

The restaurant is just beside the hotel, and it's nice dressed, elegant tables. The menu is very complete, with regional and seasonal dishes, the local beer is also very good and I suggest the dark pils. I think that the Angus beef is one of the best choice, especially the seasoned one, with 28 days drying.

Parkplatz des Lokals ca. 2 Gehminuten entfernt. Ambiente einer zusammen gezimmerten Fischbude. Fast jeder Tisch anders bestuhlt. War aber nicht ungemütlich, eher urig überladen. Auswahl am Feiertag begrenzt. Könnte aber ein Zeichen für frische Ware sein. Essen war gut, vielleicht ein wenig überteuert. Ansonsten solide.

Nicht nur der erste Blick ins Restaurant war für meine Frau und mich sehr angenehm. Wir wurden freundlich empfangen und unseren Sitzplätzen zugeführt.Unsere Getränke und das Essen wurde ohne lange Wartezeit professionell serviert und entsprach in Qualität (und auch Quantität) voll unseren Erwartungen.Wir kommen gerne wieder!
