Wir waren als Familie mit kleinem Kind da. Das Lokal ist halbwegs urig eingerichtet und ein kleines Spielzimmer ist vorhanden. Es gibt vor allem frisches Wild und Fisch. Alle Gänge wussten zu überzeugen. Richtig lecker. Preise gehen in Ordnung. Eine Bestellung wurde falsch verstanden, hier hat man sich aber bemüht zeitnah Abhilfe zu schaffen. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Nachdem wir über Jahre gerne ins Strand Café gegangen sind,mussten wir leider feststellen, dass es einen neuen Besitzer gibt,was ja nicht schlecht sein muss. Im dem Fall sind Speisen und Getränke teurer geworden und die Qualität schlechter. Teilweise wird lediglich Tk Ware verkauft im selbstbedienungs Format,zu Restaurant Preisen

Even the service staff that only works here for her 3rd day, helps you to relay and enjoy your stay. She served us a crunchy snack and gave us a lot of choices for drinks. Anyone is welcome and likes to return to such friendly people. If you choose the right evening, you enjoy live music, otherwise relaxing well-known music. Ideal place to simply be and enjoy.

Wir bekamen abends nur mit einer Reservierung Zutritt, die Zeit wurde uns zugeteilt. Die Speisekarte ist übersichtlich. Der Service funktioniert, mehr kann man dazu nicht sagen.

Haben hier einen Abend im schönen Restaurantgarten sehr lecker gegessen. Panne-Fis. Sehr zu empfehlen. Was man aber unbedingt essen sollte, ist das super leckere Lachs-Krabben Tatar!

Like Baltrum itself, the restaurants of this quiet resort island excel at being low-key. Few would expect to find a restaurant with a nautical name in which the principal attraction is an astounding collection of fine porcelain soup tureens, but such is the case with Zum Seehund, where every wall is covered with shelves showcasing what seems to be the proprietors' collection of this favorite bit of German serveware. It might well be worth the visit to the conveniently located Zum Seehund simply to see and study the evolution of this otherwise under-appreciated form of china, which is here presented in every conceivable form and with every imaginable motif, color, or finish. It is unfortunate that this remarkable assembly of domestic art contrasts with the culinary offerings of Zum Seehund. The menu, which would have been easily recognizable decades ago, abounds with large servings of pan-seared meat topped by the inevitable mushroom and cream sauce and with conventionally rendered as well as devotedly mild fish (no claim is made to the local sourcing of same despite the ocean being only a few yards away). Side dishes, especially the various forms of potatoes, evidence that kind of competence that familiarity almost automatically confers, while the side salads add a surprising (and relieving) bit of pleasant piquancy. Service at Zum Seehund is friendly, although the tables and chairs are obsolete insofar as they are of petite size suitable for the smaller and trimmer people of earlier generations. Zum Seehund delivers a quality meal but nevertheless--and despite its large portions--leaves the diner wanting more owing to the somewhat generic flavor of its offerings.

Sehr uriges Restaurant. Ãbersäht mit Dekorationen was mit der See/Schiffsfahrt zusammen hängt. Sehr nettes Servicepersonal, trotz vieler Gäste. Vorab gab es ein Amus Gueule, Baguette mit Seealgen, selbstgebeitzen Lachs an schwarzem Sesam. Weich, mild, nussig im Geschmack, perfekt aufeinander abgestimmt. Zum Hauptgericht einmal das Ostfriesenschnitzel mit Spiegelei, Krabben und Speckbratkartoffeln. Zwei groÃe und nicht totgebratene, weiches Schnitzelfleisch, herzhafte Bratkartoffeln mit Speck, zünftig leckerschmecker TOP. Schwertfisch auf Seealgen gebettet mit kleinen gerösteten französischen Kartoffeln an Kräuterbutter. Der Schwertfisch war ebenfalls meeggaa lecker auf den Punkt, saftig und bissfest. Zu beiden Gerichten wurde uns eine grüne Salatvariation mit leckeren Hausdressing serviert. Super Service. Angemessenes Preisleistungsverhältnis.Eine kleine Anmerkung gab es für uns persönlich: Evtl. etwas mehr Sauberkeit im Restaurant / Fenster- und Dekobereich? Im Bar - Thekenbereich ist Rauchen in unseren Augen ein No-Go .

The decorations of the restaurant give you the feeling of âin the old daysâ.
