$26 for two elderly pieces of panini bread, enclosing a small slice of tasteless ham luncheon each, a very small sliver of butter, a shaving of seed mustard, 2 wafer then slices of tomato, so thin I could not taste them, a portion of the outer outer limp lettice lettuce leaf from last weeks fresh lettuce harvest and a spattering of a tasteless mayonaise with a few lonely drops of grated cheese spread around for good measure. And then toasted to a crisp, so toasted in fact that like all over toasted old paninis, they couldnt be cut by any knife known to the restaurant, and were singed burnt in places as well.Wow! And all this charred lifelessness for $26. Hey, for $26 I wanted something that was packed full of goodness, that stood up and said “Im wonderful, pick me, that played me a symphony”And this just after asking for a Tuatara APA and a Monteiths Cider on tap to go with said disappointing panini. That was a joke too. “ can I have smaller gless than that one please” I said of the APA” “No” said the very wise bar lady and when I pointed out the smaller glasses on the shelf behind her, said that no, they were weighted. I would have to buy a bottle ( the Tuatara APA was NOT offered to me in a bottle) . I asked if they were a government department with all their strange rules and regulations seeing they were the ONLY bar I had been into anywhere in the world that would only serve tapped beer in a glass twice the size that I wanted and where I could then make a decision, after having paid for something I only wanted half of, I could perhaps drink half of it and maybe swim in the other half whilst waiting for my transfer flight. She thought the government department line was quite good though, but took twoce what I wanted to pay for the APA and the Cider and we dutifully drank half each to wash down the truly nasty but at least unbelievably lousy panini. Will we eat there again?, not even if hell freezes over, besides I already have a mortgage. What a joke of a place and the worst thing as listening to a couple near us complaining what they had been sold as food as well. So its not just us “fresh” from a long international flight and wanting some good old kiwi comfort food and being let down by the welcome home. Its others as well What an appalling placeDavid thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, we believe all feedback whether good or bad is invaluable for us to maintain or keep improving our offer. I am genuinely sorry to hear that you didn’t enjoy this experience with us and whilst I do not seek to justify or defend the service you received, we don’t always get it right. We endeavor to fix any mistakes at the time of the visit so that all our guests leave feeling they have enjoyed themselves, unfortunately we weren’t given this opportunity.Your right we only have pint sizes for our tap beers, and I get it that this might be too much for some of our guests, we do have a great selection of bottle beers, including low alcohol and even O% beer as well. As I understand the bartender offered our tuatara weiz guy as we don’t have APA in a bottle, but sadly that offer was rejected. And the glasses at the back of the bar were stemless wine glasses. If you do change your mind and decide to come in again, we are more than happy to try out a beer in a wine glass for you.

Come again dined here for dinner in New Year to relieve the craving I've had all week for chicken dish. But its Terrible. We ordered some starter and Beef quesdillas lamb shanks .Whenever we dine here we feel that the service is usually okay and food was good with big portions which is one of the main reasons we go there every now and then. However, that was not the case last night.Firstly, table is sticky .it seemed that the staff were confused among themselves; we were led to our table by the staff at the counter, a waitress came and took our order, another waiter came and told us that she'll be looking after our table, and once we were done with our meal, a different waiter came to clear our table. Maybe it's how their system is run, but it made us feel as though we were not being properly looked after. Now back to the food.we waiting for half hour got the food .Before just 10 mins. And the food is lack of seasoning.I dont know what happen . Maybe they change the owner or chef ?The lamb wasn't even as tender as they should be, and the amount of mashed potato served with the lamb was terrible. The beef quesdillas were alright - nothing fancy. What a big disappointment! I thought Toby Jug INN is known to "provide quality with quantity" which was far from the reality that hit us big time on our face. We've actually asked the waitress about the quantity of each dish before ordering and she was pretty confident that they would be filling. Quality? Could be better, and quantity? Who are we kidding? We had to come home and cook ourselves a meal to satisfy our hunger after paying from dining out. What a waste of money and time. I usually don't like ranting negatively about a place, but just felt the need to put it out there with an honest review. Not going back to this branch again out of choice for sure.

Elegant hotel restaurant with various dietary options. Wine list was excellent. Service is very novice if not unexperienced. Our order took over 2 hours to get and when it finally arrived, two of our four dishes were incorrect. We asked the server about it and he said it was no longer available. What?? Needless to say we had an expensive diner for food we did not order.

As we were staying at this hotel for a few days while attending a training course, we ate at this restaurant for breakfast and dinner multiple times. Unfortunately, while the food was delicious, the service was very slow and the staff appeared a bit useless. We learnt on the first night to book a table if there were more than 2 of us, yet we still had to wait for our table to be ready and there was a long wait for food once seated. Eating at 8.30pm is not ideal after a long day. Such a shame because the food really was good. It would put me off going back to this hotel .Dear Holly, Thank you for your feedback detailing your experience while staying at Sudima Hotel Auckland Aiport recently. I ate here multiple times during my stay. Generally speaking the food we served was good and breakfast was delicious. However there was one time when the food that arrived was a completely different standard to what we had eaten previously and it was disappointing. Hopefully this was a one off as the next trip it was fine. We had one incident where the rest of my table had been served and eaten and my meal was yet to arrive. When i asked about it, i was told it had been accidentally dropped and was being remade. I was waiting for over an hour in the end. While an apology was received, there was no attempt to compensate me. However the meals are yummy, i would recommend ordering a side to go with them. The Bao buns was my favorite meal. The majority of the staff were friendly and nice but there was one in particular who succeeded in letting us know how much of a pain she thought we were. Perhaps she could do with some lessons in customer service.

We planned on Orbit360 but due to the Sky City Convention Centre fire we looked for fine dining that was closer to where were staying. We had fine dining that exceeded our expectations and had a great waiter, Max. The Whitebait (NZ delicacy) was served coated on top of egg omlete roll. This made a great improvement from being stuck together with egg in the traditional manner. And that was the start of wonderful dishes presented in fine manner.

Been to Szimpla a couple of times now, my Dad frequents New Zealand and we often end up here for a meal in between his flights. The food is good nothing to rave about really, but good value for money as they are generous sizes that I often end up taking half my meal away.

The Villa Maria Auckland Winery, Vineyard Café & Cellar Door is open 7 days, serving delicious food and wines. Enjoy a glass of Villa Maria wine on the terrace which overlooks the Ihumatao vineyard, and share a platter or have lunch.

We lunched at Villa Maria Winery in February for a 60th birthday and again in March for a 70th birthday. The second time it was extremely busy because there was a massive marquee set up right next to the restaurant, with a big conference happening, but considering that, the service was still pretty much up to speed as on other visits. The food is always lovely here but it is definitely one of those places that goes for the flash looking food display over quantity, and meals are made dearer by having to purchase a salad or vegetables as a separate item. I know plenty of people who have been caught out on their first visit there, ordering their meal and expecting that it will be the norm of a full meal (vegetables with it, not a separate purchase). The staff are always lovely and accommodating :-)
