To cut a long story short: if the service were more attentive, I would have rated this place as "excellent". For its typical ambience, regional and seasonal menu, good choice of wines, and very good value for money. The food is freshly prepared with everything home made, including the sauce tartare; hence we didn't mind to wait longer than expected for it to arrive.

ViCulinaris wählte meine Cousine bewusst für ihre Geburtstagsfeier, da ihr eine gute Location sehr wichtig war. Gefeiert wurde in der Location in Sterz, die eine wunderbare Hüttenatmosphäre hatte. Das Servicepersonal war den ganzen Abend sehr aufmerksam und das Menü mit vier Gängen war so gut wie perfekt. Besonders das Lammragout hat mich und die anderen Gäste sehr beeindruckt, da es modern zubereitet war und daher eine ganz tolle Geschmackserfahrung bot.

We have visited the Restaurant Elia several times and on each occasion we were totally spoilt. From the friendly greetings to the complimentary Ouzo, the toasted bread and Olive Oil to the main meal, all went perfectly smoothly. The attentive staff must be complimented, drinks are served promptly, side salad is provided before the meal and further complimentary desert and Ouzo make the meal a pleasant experience. Now to the actual paid-for food on the plate: we and our guest usually come back for the grilled "Kalamari Psito" (â¬11.40) which are prepared perfectly. Try it. Our tip: if you donât want to make a pig of yourself, go for the "Seniorenkarte" (Senior Portions), seven calamari together with the offered bread & olive oil, Pilaf-Rice, potatoes, the lemon-oil sauce and the salad is plenty for most people. The complimentary desert after the meal is a nice touch without spoiling a good meal in a pleasant atmosphere. The only negative item I might point out, is the Pangasius (fish). Why does a good restaurant offer such a poor quality fish with all itâs controversial background (google it). This alone would normally put us off setting foot in such a place. Apart from this, we are happy to recommend Restaurant Elia which certainly is a shining light amongst the Bad Toelz gastronomy. Prices are reasonable and we will soon return to be spoilt once more. (PS: we not related or befriended with anybody working in the restaurant, but we feel we are treated like friends)

Having opened only a few months ago in the Kurhaus area of Bad Tölz, Binder-Bräu has already established its name for craft beer and typical Bavarian cuisine. They brew a few standard beers, such as lager, WeiÃbier (wheat beer) and dark beer, and in season special beers such as Maibock and others. The menu offers a good choice of Bavarian dishes, including snacks (Brotzeit). When busy, the waiting time for the food is longer than usual, but it is all freshly prepared and very tasty. For a larger group, one can book a guided tour through the brewery which is very recommendable.

Unfortunately we arrived with high expectations however the experience was ruined within seconds. They threw us to a side desk to wait which would have been fine however noone approached us if we would like anything in the meantime (starter or a drink). After 10 minutes waiting in the very warm restaurant we thought we ask whether we can order but we were just dealt with an upsetting 'moment OK' answer. There are other good restaurants around, don't waste your time on this one. AVOID

We were taken there by a cousin, who's son had designed the lighting, so were prepared for a great experience. The place is very modest looking, but packed, so they must be doing something right. Our food was very good and reasonably priced, so that was part of the explanation. It is very much into the farm to table movement.

This restaurant is most easily categorised as different. It serves breakfast lunch and dinner but has a unique feel and style. The menu is entertaining reading with pictures and humorous captions. Not for everyone's taste, especially those without any sense of humour. I have enjoyed dinners and casual lunches there as well as just an occasional beer - their dark beers is delicious. The service is warm and friendly and the and ambience inside surprisingly better than outward appearances. The food is good, decently presented and tasty whether it be their nachos, steak, or Thai curry. The speciality of the house is a huge baguette sandwich with a selection of fillings, which I have not yet experienced but appears to be very popular. One of the few venues that plays music although this is not to everybody's liking it makes a refreshing difference for me. Overall good place to visit and value for money. We will keep going back.

With all the good reviews, we went with higher expectations. Must say, were disappointed a bit.We ordered a meat platter and a fish platter. Presentation as well as the taste was ordinary, did not impress us at all. For the prices we were paying, expected much more.Would not recommend!

We booked ahead on a Tuesday evening and got a sit-by option which means sharing a larger table with other people. No problem at all. Staff were friendly, impressively efficient and approachable. We had the game specials, utterly great, tasty, satisfying and filling. Lovely atmosphere, mainly locals, which I always take as a good sign. Well deserved rating.
