We attempted to visit this cafe today around 3pm and we were immediately greeted with a statement from a staff member, spoken loudly in front of the other diners, that we could only have tea and cake as lunches have stopped or “we would be open all day!!”We only wanted a cream tea, but we were never asked what we wanted and we left - in our opinion the style of customer service was rude and abrasive and I am aware other reviews that highlight other occasions when that attitude of staff was poor and/or unacceptable We will never use this cafe and I would advise other visitors to Port Isaac that there are many other options for refreshments in the village..... just keep walking.

We had a fabulous time in Port Issac and can highly recommend this B&B. It is located in easy walking distance of the village of port Issac made famous as the location where they film Doc Martin. Steve welcomed us warmly and helped us park right outside. He then showed us to our room and gave us lots of helpful information about the area. The room was very clean and modern. It was at the back of the house and extremely peaceful with possibly the most comfortable beds we have ever slept on. There was plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits in the room with a supply on the landing if we wanted more. Breakfast was full English with all the trimmings plus a selection of cereal fresh fruit and yogurt. Oh and the tea was real not bags which is a rare find but much appreciated. Overall a great example of a B&B run by a friendly couple who have got everything right.

We'd never been to Wadebridge before. We happened on Caraways at lunchtime and were delighted. It's small, but comfortable and cosy. There is a warm atmosphere enhanced by the friendliness of the service and the jazz music + the obvious appreciation of the regulars. The menu was engaging too. All the regular lunch items were there but so was curried banana soup, chowder and other creative offerings. Great place.

Popped in for a cake and milkshake. The millionaire brownie was to die for, and the scone was beautiful - served with clotted cream and jam. The milkshakes are delicious and a real treat, lots of different flavours. Really relaxed calm vibe here, stunning view over the bay. Would highly recommend if you're in Rock.

We all enjoyed our meals, burger, pizzas and fish and chips whilst overlooking Polzeath beach on a sunny evening. Unfortunately the table next to us chain smoked throughout the majority of our meal taking away the fresh outdoor pleasure of alfresco dining.Surely there should be smoke free outside areas nowadays especially where people are eating.Hi, thank you for taking the time to leave your review. I’m pleased to hear you enjoyed your meals here at TJ’s. it’s unfortunate the table smoking next to your party had a negative effect on your enjoyable experience. Myself or my team would have been happy to resolve the issue by offering an alternative table or speaking to the table directly. We always hope guests wishing to smoke are conscientious and considerate to other diners and if any issues such as this arise we are always happy to offer assistance. We hope to see you again soon. Many thanks,Dan.General Manager.

Visited here this morning after landing from Manchester. Big warm friendly greeting from Kevin (I might have the name wrong) who is such a welcoming bloke, also very entertaining all the way through breakfast. It's a well known fact that fisherman can spin a yarn, well as a Cornish man you're never far from the sea, and with a history of ex navy then you've got a good chance of being an expert on yarns. Kevin has got the art of story telling down too a T. Worth just dropping in for a coffee and chat with Kevin to hear how proud he is of his and his family achievements, such a genuine bloke. But don't just get a coffee, get something to eat as well. I had a small breakfast and it was ever so tasty, plus a decent cup of coffee these set me up for the day. If you want to chop and change anything on the breakfast then that wasn't too much trouble either. You can eat outside or in, but note it is a roadside cafe and there is passing traffic. It doesn't look like your standard roadside cafe, it's been prettier up a bit. You can also take away if you want. If you fancy some decent grub and enjoy some friendly local banter, this is your place to go.

Just been this afternoon (26.07.2019). With it being the last full day of our holiday, we decided it would be the perfect time to go out and look for a place to try our very first CORNISH CREAM TEA and we are so glad we decided to choose and come to this lovely, quaint place. The cafe is beautifully decorated and it really does make you feel like you have entered Alice in Wonderland's Mad Hatter's party place. I'm more a coffee person than a tea person but was so glad I stuck to having tea with my Cornish Cream Tea as it went down grandly with everything. The scones were served warm and it was just so light, fluffy and absolutely delicious with the jam ("it's JAM first in Cornwall!") and clotted cream. It was heaven on a plate! The owner (we assume she was the owner) and her staff were so friendly, warm and welcoming. Loved every second we were there. You need to visit this place when in Wadebridge. My husband was eyeing the Victoria Sponge Cake. I think he'd have ordered a slice if he still had some space in his tummy for it as it looked divine, too. Would come back if ever we are in the area again. Thank you.

Chapel Cafe

Old Chapel converted into small cafe plus lots of items for sale such as handbags, clothes, vases, lamps, jewellery to name but a few. Tables quite cramped together on only half of the ground floor as other half plus all the upstairs were goods to buy. Did note a vase at £500! We waited rather a long time to be served before we were noticed but the servers were very friendly. We were going to have lunch, but found it very overpriced I.e. jacket potato with prawns £10! Soup £6.50.We settled for coffee and shortbread...the shortbread was ok but quite thick and soft...am sure I detected a hint of lemon in it which I am not keen on.Dogs are allowed in, but if each table had a dog then it would be even more cramped.Disappointing overall, for us.

Finally visited here during our holiday and can totally see what all the fuss is about. Busy, buzzing, cosy atmosphere and quite simply the most delicious breakfast I’ve ever had! My husband says it was his best too and he’s even older than me! And REALLY fussy! The hash browns were heavenly! And what a great price too! Spot on. Well done to Ben and all the staff!
