Reviews on Bar food in Savaneta, Caribbean. Savaneta is a village in southeastern Aruba. Home to the oldest surviving home in Aruba, it is the oldest town on the island and its former capital. It was where the Dutch first settled after they recaptured it in 1816. The Dutch marines have barracks stationed in Savaneta.

This is a fun place to stop by and check out the rock formations, and then have lunch at the cafe... They have great sandwiches, cold drinks and cheap beers (cheaper than the resorts!)!!! Oh yeah, ice cream too! On Wednesday nights they have a jazz band (always very good!) and great dinners.. Sunday nights they have a BBQ and live music.. We always enjoy going here when we are in Aruba (8 times so far!)....

Great beach settting on Baby Beach. This place pretty much has the the market for eating at Baby Beach, but they make sure it is also worth the visit beyond just the setting. Beautiful open air restaurant, cool ambiance with tables that are actual prices of trees. Great staff. They arenât The fastest, but the service was great and super friendly and the food was awesome. During our trip to Aruba we wanted to get good local fish at some point and this place hit the spot. We didnât plan to eat at this restaurant, but our timing made it seem like a good idea and we are SO glad we decided to try it. All of our food was good, we tried the fried funchi, big mama BOM, fish platter, and knockout platter. You can choose how you want your fish cooked, we got grilled, and it was all fantastic. If unsure what anything is, just ask, and they do a good job explaining. Prices were good, sizes were good and taste was great. Would absolutely recommend this place. Undecided if I would drive all the way down though just for the restaurant, might, but not sure. But if ever visiting baby beach again, this would be a must stop.

The restaurant is part of the all inclusive plan at the Renaissance Hotel and Suites. It is located on their private island. There were not many choices for breakfast. Each was served with an individual fruit plate plus plates of pastries to share. The Caribbean breakfast was different and quite good, oven beaked eggs on top of a mild, tasty salsa. Lunch offered typical selections of appetizers, salads, and sandwiches. The jerk wings were great.

Stopped for lunch after walking around downtown. We split the wings and burger. West Deck is on our list of places to return.

Find this exquisite beach hiding among palm trees which are swaying in the balmy breeze. Enjoy the day on comfortable beach chairs in our cabanas, soaking up the Aruban sun and sipping flutes of the best champagnes. Fresh seafood and excellent cuts of mea

If only it was not so far from our hotel then we would come here more often. It is best restaurant if you visit Arikok National Park as there are not many restaurants nearby. I had really nice wrap made of pink dough, it was very tasty. I also loved their homemade fries. It was very delicious. The service was very friendly and when owner found out we are visiting baby beach after he advised us to use his toilet as there won't be any changing facilities at the beach.

Excellent food at reasonable (for Aruba) prices. We always get the crab wrap, even though it isn't listed on the menu. Cold fresh beers are pretty great too! It looks like they are expanding the patio area with plans to offer more in the future. Maybe music in the evening (hoping!) Definitely worth the visit. BTW, they need a sign at their driveway. It's easy to see from the main road, not so easy to find from the back road where the actual entrance is.

I recently wrote the a review and since changed it because I, like others, seemed to confuse this place with the other place downstairs (Lago Colony). I went to lunch downstairs thinking it was Rum Reef but Rum Reef is actually the place upstairs where they have a bar and an infinity pool. My friend and I went upstairs after the beach and we had a couple of cocktails and had the entire pool to ourselves. The cocktails were great, the pool water is refreshing and you get great views of the beach. We stayed about 2 hours and left. I would definitely return.

This local hang-out (calling it a bar-restaurant is an overkill) was recommended by some locals to try the local mussels. Going there with the right spirit, we found the experience colorful and fun. The "bar-restaurant" is essentially one room with a big pool table in the middle, a few scattered chairs and the bar where everything happens - no sitting for the food, if you are lucky you find a high chair available around the bar.The level of noise was overwhelming, and communication with the barman-owner (a chinese lady screaming her lungs out to get the right people's attention) was fairly impossible, we were lucky to sit next to a very nice local lady who communicated in Papiamento (I think) and translated for us. The place was crowded, with a mix of locals and tourists, the median age was likely around 70-75. Locals know better to call before and order their food (of course, they are able to communicate with the barman), we ended up waiting almost one hour for the take-away food we ordered, and a couple of beers helped with the wait. The mussels were huge, bigger than I thought exist, one of them would be enough to fill a small sandwich, they came in some sort of unidentifiable Chinese-type sauce. We ordered two mussels dishes with fries (I think), with six beers the bill was USD 28, higher than I thought but I am not sure I understood the menu correctly. All in all it was fun, discovering we still have a sense of adventure and maintain a positive attitude toward unexpected cultural challenges makes us feel young.

Charlieâs Bar & Restaurant was founded on September 18, 1941 by a Dutch couple, Charles and Marie Brouns. They chose their location in San Nicolas as it was close to the large Lago Refinery: this provided a steady stream of clientele in the form of seamen
You to be an all time favorite (Year 2002) This year (May 2019) things have changed at Charlies Bar. The bar tender did not have excess to the retail store. Where we would have loved to get some t-shirts and souveniours So we could not get any souveniours.. we are not able to travel to Aruba every year. Our friends will never have Charlies t-shirts. Food - we had steamed shrimp - small portions and was not fresh. Had reaction following day. Would not go to Charlies again.
