Rugeley (/ˈruːdʒli/ ROOJ-lee) is a historic market town in the county of Staffordshire, England. It lies on the north-eastern edge of Cannock Chase next to the River Trent, and is situated between the towns of Stafford, Cannock, Lichfield and Uttoxeter. At the 2001 census the town's population was 22,724, (including the Brereton and Etchinghill wards). increasing to 24,033 at the 2011 Census. Rugeley is twinned with Western Springs, Illinois and in July 1962 the towns made telephone history on national television when the chairman of Rugeley Urban District Council made the first telephone call via the new Telstar satellite to the Mayor of Western Springs.

We had a take away from here last night.... we were told 10 mins, the 20. Then when we went to collect 20 mins later we had to wait another 20 mins. Had the chef changed because the food is no where near as good as usual, the meal we had looked totally different to how it did before, totally different colour and not as nice. This is such a shame because it is our local. Hi there, shocked to actually read something like this as I have no knowledge of this nature happening in our restaurant. Our chef has not changed and our waiting time on collection orders is no where near what you have stated. I would recommend you pop in to have a word with management in the near future concerning any worries or issues you may have. Thank you Management@indiared

I've been using this takeaway for some time now, so I thought it best to put finger to keyboard and write a review. Why take so long to write a review I hear you ask !! Well I thought I'd give I chance and not go by just one meal, so after eating practically everything on the menu plus added extras which I ask for I can honestly say that this is THE best takeaway in the area. I dare you to say otherwise. The chef will cook anything you want, if you fancy a masala madras hot, then no problem. If you fancy lemon chilli fried rice then no problem. Nothing is a problem for this place. If you have your food delivered it'll arrive piping hot and at the time stated. There is no complaints whatsoever so pick up the phone or pop in and see the friendly and helpful staff for your delicious meal. Hey Niall. Thanks, even we've fallen in love with your lemon chilli fried rice - what a combination. Thanks for being patient with us and we hope we can always meet your needs :)

Saturday night fancied a change, we decided to give lotus house a try as we had heard people recommend it.Round about 30 minutes of waiting as was rammed but we waited.So glad we did, food was excellent and tasted brilliant.My children had 3 in 1's but unfortunately weren't used to proper curry on the chips and rice and although a little hotter, still ate the lot (followed by killing off the squash after).I would well recommend but be aware that it is cash only and no home delivery.I would seriously suggest that the run round will be worth it.

So the service was warm and positive but the tables are really rammed in and diners sit on top of each other. The food is average but is good value. The popadoms were distinctly average - but the nan bread was excellent. Also there is no Alcohol served but you can bring your own. A disappointment!

We saw the advert in the Chronicle newspaper advert and had to give the restaurant ago. They streetfood menu was delicious and left us all feeling like it was a truly enjoyable experience and unique. Thereâs no where else that does streetfood which is all the trend now and cocktails together. The summer scene was really popular on our table. Cant recommend the lamb chops enough.

I for one will not be using this restaurant again i don;t know whats happened to it but it's far from good as the old place the ambiance as gone along with a lot of the friendly staff and the meal was rather on the bland side as i say not a patch on the old placeThank you for your feedback, we will defiantly take this criticism on board!

The Shimla Palace staff make your visit great by their welcoming, friendly approach.A very full menu catering for all tastes, if you cannot see it, describe it and the experience will astound you.We have been eating here for at least 24 years and have never been disappointed.The takeaway service is very good and the standard of food does not drop.Regular bus service from Lichfield and Stafford almost to the door means you can travel on buses if you need to have a drink.Opening at 5.30pm catering for all ages.Thank you very much for the compliments and your prestigious time for the review.We at The Shimla Palace do our utmost to deliver good food and service. Myself, my son and my girlfriend came here for a New Years curry and to be fair.My girlfriend had samosas and my son had Onion Bhajis which they both enjoyed. I had the Chicken Pakoras which was nice however the portion was a little small which was a shame.For the main course, my son had the Tandoori mixed grill which was a large portion and he enjoyed it. My girlfriend had a Chicken Makhani which she thought was lovely. I had a Lamb Ghost which was recommended by the waiter and it was lovely with the meat tender.With our curries we had a tasty Keema fried rice and a Peshawarâs Nan which was light and both complemented our dishes.Considering it was New Years Eve and it was busy, the staff worked incredibly well and coped with the pressure, itâs shame I canât give 4.5 instead of 4. But the restaurant is worth considering if you want a curry in Rugeley
