We have had lunch here 2 times and it was somewhat of a let down both the times.food was average and the variety is limited for the price. Very limited dessert options too. Staff were nice and welcoming but main focus has to be on food. There are many other places in the town (given the fact that this restaurant is located bit off the town of polonnaruwa) that offer better food for the price. Saw lot of tour guides bring their groups here as presumably they receive a higher commission and a free buffet for themselves.

Very nice restaurant that serves loads of different local specialities (Buffet) so that you can try everything.Really lovely atmosphere with a nice view over the rice fields next to the restaurant. A little bit off the main road and therefore hard to find.

If one is visiting Polonnaruwa or going through enroute to Pasikudah this is an awesome place for lunch. It offers authentic clean SriLankan food with a village ambiance. The service is with the typical SriLankan hospitality and smile. The restrooms are clean. The food was very good and had both veg and non-veg options so all can enjoy. The prices are also very reasonable. There is ample parking as well. The place borders the elephant protection fence so if lucky one can see some elephants. We managed to get a glimpse from far. All in all can recommend this place.

We ordered seafood fried rice portion for 2 people, after 40 minutes we got small pieces of seafood with terrible taste. Shrimps were cutted into small pieces and totally burned. We asked them why it is burned they said it is deep fry and this is how that looks. It was not possible to eat this. We ate only rice. Terrible experience! If you dare try the diet cock...

Amazing restaurant with delicious foods in Jayanthipura near by Polonnaruwa ancient city. We had got late lunch during visiting polonnaruwa and there foods were very delicious. Restaurant manager is very nice person who was worked ceylon hotel cooperation. Very curtesy to the guest and nice hospitality. There Asan fried rice too testy. All staff are very friendly. Obviously nice restaurant for all types of guests for reasonable prices.

Piyamali Gedara, located 15 minutes from the city center, this place is a gem of local authentic food. Stopped for lunch, mainly because of good comments and some bad comments by local.its fantastic, the food was super tasty and all of them were local varieties. I am happy that I went today. Highly recommend all tourists visit when they come to polonnaruwa. And locals to be a bit patient piyamali is unique and the owners are very very honorable people with values. I was treated as a human that's how they treat everyone. All the very best, bless you, may you prosper day by day.

superb restaurant with a traditional buffet made of various terra cotta pot. A very large variety of mouthwatering dishes made of organic vegeterian, vegan, meat dishes, fish etc... All the fruits and vegetables are very fresh from their own organic garden.
