It is located around 128 kilometres (80 miles) north of the capital Yerevan. As of the 2011 census, the city had a population of 86,199, down from 148,876 reported at the 1979 official census. Currently, the town has an approximate population of 82,200 as per the 2016 official estimate.

I was surprised to see that Oasis has kept the tradition of offering quality food after so many years I haven't been to Vanadzor. The place was renovated and looked more cafe-like and more modern. The waiters were still not so sweet, but the food is served quickly and is very good. And like previously, no sense in going to the 2nd floor open-air part as there's still lots of smoke and noise of the main avenue! This is definitely the best place to eat in this town.

Visited this place with family of 10 plus. Got very great service and food was unbelievably fresh and tasty. Tried chicken and beef kabob and "chalaghach". Highly recommended.
