Coordinates: 40°48′46″N 44°29′18″E / 40.81278°N 44.48833°E / 40.81278; 44.48833 Vanadzor (Armenian: Վանաձոր pronounced [vɑnɑˈdzɔɾ]), is an urban municipal community and the third-largest city in Armenia serving as the capital of Lori Province in the northern part of the country. It is located around 128 kilometres (80 miles) north of the capital Yerevan. As of the 2011 census, the city had a population of 86,199, down from 148,876 reported at the 1979 official census. Currently, the town has an approximate population of 82,200 as per the 2016 official estimate.

I was in Vanadzor to do some shopping and needed a quick bite. It took a while for me to be waited on, but the service was quick after that. The fried cheese was rather over-done, but of course tasty: it's fried cheese, after all.
It was pretty crowded even at 3PM, and some of the other food looked pretty good. I didn't have time to eat here more than once, though.

Don't get me wrong: I'm not sure the 'shot' hits the mark, but it was a welcome site for a restaurant to make such a good-faith effort at modernity in Vanadzor (not the only one to try, mind you, but one of the better results).
My wife & I ate here twice during our short stay. On our first night in town, it had a promising look for something like fusion dinners. Actually, the menu stays pretty traditional, but it does include some items which had western-enough flair to appeal to a broad traveling audience. Also, for those who are Armenian-challenged like me & my wife, the menu has English-like descriptions and pictures, and the wait-staff all seemed happy to tolerate our remedial attempts at communication. The food was solid, but not spectacular; the service was well-above par for Armenia; and the total cost was surprisingly reasonable.
We went back a second night just for tea & dessert, and while the desserts were not quite as good as we had hoped they would be, the tea service was quite good, and we were happy the second time around with the service and value.
By the time you make it to Vanadzor, you've probably had enough eating out experience in Armenia to know that there is a good chance that your first dinner selection may not actually be available, and the same was true for us: I couldn't get either of my first two choices at dinner and neither me nor my wife got our first choices for dessert...but at least the waiter told us that when we were trying to order rather than waiting to return with only one dish or nothing at all before laying it down.

Очень красивый интерьер в ресторане. Обслуживание, как и везде в Армении, душевное, гостеприимству учиться и учиться у этих людей! Все в меню кажется аппетитным и вкусным. Мы пробовали несколько блюд национальной кухни, все очень понравилось.

Ну неплохое место, с точки зрения кухни, все как во всех армянских ресторанах, отлично подойдет для мероприятий. Если вы в Цахтадзоре, то найдите место по интереснее!

Good for visiting in the evening, it is a cafe with live jazz music(in the evening), not always,but sometimes high quality musicians play piano, guitar.

Я часто организую поездки в Ванадзор, Одзун, Санаин, Ахпат, Ахтала. Вечером мы всегда едим в ресторан Изагри - красивое, уютный ресторан-кафе в центральной части Ванадзора, кормят очень вкусно и недорого. Я был там раз 15, отвозил туда делегации из других стран - всем очень понравилось.
