There is a huge bug problem. We saw hundreds of ants at the ToGo reception area, the front of house lady just shrugged her shoulders and said 'it happens every summer'. The toilets were smelly and dirty with only one cubicle having toilet paper. The fries I ordered should have been fresh, hot and crispy with melted cheese, jalapenos and bacon (sounds nice). When I opened the ToGo box it looked like 'roadkill fries'. The fries were withered and some were burnt at the ends as if they had been reheated. The cheese looked like someone had butchered Kevin the minion (obviously before the roadkill incident). When I turned the portion of fries over (yes, it was like a pancake), the bottom had black flakey bits on, presumably asphalt? My husband thought they tasted okay, but this is the man who thinks beans and yeast paste on bread constitutes a breakfast. One thing I should mention here is that they were about to close up when we put our order in, which may be their excuse, but I didn't pay 'close-up' money (I paid over 8 dollars for this 'fries experience') and they did not need to take our order... the surprise which awaited me in my ToGo plastic bag did not become apparent until after they closed.

Not this time. A good “eating place” is recognized by the consistency of their standards. The sirloin steak we were served this time was not even bigger than an iPhone 6s (or a Samsung mini), it was tough to chew, unseasoned and not medium rare. And when you sell beef, you must be fair and consistent on weight and quality. This time it was a sad experience. We had really liked the place the first few times we had been there and had even recommended to friends. Well, I guess either the kitchen staff has changed or the management is not doing good business therefore has to make cuts on the portions they serve. Really sorry, but we can no longer recommend it. Taking 3 stars off from our previous rating. We might give them a chance for redemption a year from now, we are still digesting the steak.

BBQ connection got the main thing right, good meat. The ribs were excellent. Their sauce is similar to a Caroline vinager style which was pretty good. But there are a few little things I think they missed the mark on. Their brisket had a hot spice rub on it that was not mentioned before and made it almost impossible to eat. They serve you the BBQ with no sauce on it (at least for to go). Their bake beans were not good and served cold, but on the other hand their hush puppies are amazing. The restaurant is best for "to go" orders since it's so small and you'd have to make reservations if you wanted to eat there. I don't understand why they are cash only when most of their clients are American. Get there at exactly 5pm when they open, 30 minutes later they were swarmed. Overall, if you are crazy BBQ, it's probably the best you'll find in the area. Thanks for the review and your time. You did not like the beans and the brisket was a little hot. Beans will always be hit or miss depending on the individual. We keep the recipe basic, in order not too offend. The brisket was a little hot this week this week because we used a different pepper.Easy fix, mistake owned, problem fixed. We will go back to the original rub.If you read this after the date posted above, just know that the brisket is back to the original recipe. When dining in, we ask the customers throughout the meal how things are in order to measure conditions. If an issue is brought up, we deal with it on the spot. I am assuming this was a to-go order because of the beans being cold. All in all,the review is fair. All the issues brought up will be discussed with the staff. Improvements will be made.

Within walking distance of the hotel. It was good food and drink, and I wasn't in a hurry. Friendly staff, although Lacking on service. - Felt like they were short staffed each of the several visits I made. Last visit, after 20-30 minutes, and seeing other tables being waited on just fine. I finally took the order for my whole table to place at the bar/register myself, they didn't appear offended, and seemed grateful for the help. The rest of the night went fine.

Recommended by a friend, we checked out Ancho’s recently. What a great meal! Fairly easy to park nearby and simple fare, we were happy to explore the ample menu with burgers, salads, chicken, pasta, and other Tex-Mex items - which had English translations. The service was friendly and prompt and the prices were completely reasonable. We tried the burgers and Blackened Chicken sandwich and the sweet potato fries. OUTstanding stuff - some of the best sandwiches in Germany we’d had. If you are hankering for some tastes from the USA, here is a great place to start. We look forward to returning and having some other items on the menu…

Cafe Sanders

Reviewed By classymoose

They really come through with their portions when it comes to the breakfast platters. It wasn’t too much, but it was filling. I haven’t been here since they remodeled and they did a fantastic job making it comfortable and inviting while it was slightly cramped before. The service was extremely attentive, but not too nosy and our food was brought out in 5-10 minutes. A perfect amount of time to enjoy a bit of coffee before eating. They do not take a card; however, if you’ve lived in Europe for a while, this shouldn’t be anything new. The street parking is crowded, but this is a very busy part of the area. I wanted to address the “terrible” reviews that I read for this place. Maybe bringing your unruly toddlers to a nice cafe isn’t a wonderful idea. This isn’t America where people bend over backwards to make sure they get your money and let your kids destroy the place. As someone without kids, nothing ruins my quiet meal faster than people that don’t do anything about their wild offspring. If I saw a mountain of Cheerios or bread surrounding a drooling, screaming child, I wouldn’t be very pleased either. TL;DR: Disregard bad reviews by selfish parents and enjoy Sanders.
