Toyama Glass Art Museum

This museum costs ¥200 to visit. You go into the building and the museum is on the upper floors of what I presume is the library. The exhibits were amazing. The colours, the size, and the artistry were amazing. There were numerous members of staff present.
Well worth the cost of entry.

Fugan Unga Kansui Park

Reviewed By Karen C - Singapore, null, Singapore

A 10 to 15 minutes' walk from Toyama station. We went there in the late afternoon close to sunset. There is a water feature/fountain that releases water at regular intervals with changing and colourful lights. Sakura trees and tulip planters line the sides of the canal and makes a beautiful sight. The Starbucks Café is definitely a highlight. Sit at the outdoor area to enjoy the cool air, beautiful sunset and your coffee. A popular spot with dog owners too.

It is very near to Toyama Castle. Take the lift up , about 9 storey high , you can see the city view and it is 360 degrees view! There is a English brief description up there by turning the knob on a machine. It is free to go up!so take the chance as it is very near city central. From Toyama station is about 10 mins walk.

Terminal is north end of JR Toyama station.Fare to Iwase is Yen 200.Pay the driver when you exit the car.Machine next to driver allows you to change one thousand Yen note to coins for you to pay driver.Ride is smooth and you get to see local scenes along the way.Journey takes about 30 mins.
At the end of the line to Iwase, you are close to the canal.Just take a walk around Iwase using the map provided to you by the information counter at the JR Toyama station. The beach is also close to the end of the line.
Rail car is very clean and comfortable .It is also very safe. It however has a small capacity but we found it was not full when we used it. Ideal for families with kids.

Yatsuo no Machinami

Owara Kazeno-bon is one of the traditional festival of Toyama.
You can enjoy listening music and seeing dance here. At night, Owara dancing and singing contest will begin.
And it has many old buildings so you can also enjoy the view of Yatuo. I recommend night's view because it has many bright paper lanterns.

Toyama Castle

First and foremost, if you are driving, there's a carpark right underneath the castle ground. Very easy and convenient for visitors.
The park was quiet when I visit on a weekday morning. Not really a big and grand castle but picturesque!
An hour walk around the park will be enough.

Toyama City Tram Line

Reviewed By austranomads - Australia

Some trams actually begin and end within the railway station building which is great when weather not the best. Mainly very modern and can do various circuits of the city.
Trams to the Port area do not originate within the station but are easily accessible on the opposite side of the station.

Traditional Townscape of Iwase

Reviewed By Julie B

This little seaport town has undergone a wonderful transformation. Many of the buildings have been updated, but in a way to retain their traditional look. Behind the gorgeous facades however, if you delve a bit deeper is a completely functioning artist village. Local craftspeople have set up their studios there making everything from woodcarvings, to pottery to amazing glassware. There is much more than meets the eye in this town. I recommend taking the time to get to know it!

Toyama Family Park

Reviewed By theronmuller - Nagano

A zoo with a small section containing some amusement park rides and another with spacious Playgrounds, this is an excellent place to spend the day when school is out and the weather is nice. On a rainy day I would recommend visiting somewhere else, though; there isn't much in the way of indoor attractions here. If you're in Toyama for any length of time, rather than pay the 500 yen for one entry, I would recommend getting the year pass for 1,000 yen; that gets you free access to a number of other attractions in Toyama as well. They give you a brochure with details when you purchase the pass.
