Visited this Restaurant 3 times over the last few weeks. One occasion later in the evening and twice on the early diner - which is super value for money. The service cannot be faulted, and the food is just so tasty, The guy who takes your order, and appears to be in charge, is very helpful and pleasant. Well worth a visit.

We went here after being recommended by a cafe in Holmfirth, can't believe we have never been before.
Meal was prefect and staff excellent, the restaurant is really nicely decorated in an old building, the steak was the best we have ever had and cooked to perfection, the chef told us the meat comes from the butchers in Meltham so we will be buying our meat from there in future. You can watch the chefs work in the open kitchen and the chef was really pleasant and chatty and happy to discuss anything you want about the food.
The desserts were delicious and so refreshing to have home made desserts (really hard to find these days) so trying to be good for January went out of the window and we went for a shared Quirky Dessert Collection (in for a penny in for a pound)
We were amazed that the fairly large restaurant was about full on a midweek night in January but now we know why, good job we booked and will always book in future, this is our new favourite restaurant and thank you to Philomena Foggs Cafe who recommended this wonderful place to us.
There was a birthday party in of about 14 people with ages from about 3 to 80 and they all looked to be having a really nice time so it looks an amazing place to have a family party so will look to do this in the future.

We all had the set lunch menu,the soup and goats cheese starters were reportedly very tasty ,with interesting flavours my scallops were well presented and good.bread was fresh and came with oil and balsamic vinegar.A large jug of iced water was welcome and apparently the beer was very good.
Chicken mains were extremely generous and well flavoured as was the shake and pork dishes.
Only one of us could manage dessert which was cheesecake with fudge and chocolate ice cream which was described as excellent.
It was a relaxing,friendly venue with a good music selection of gentle,quality jazz.
Service was friendly but I feel if you were time restricted you would need to be aware food is obviously freshly cooked to order and there is a longish gap between courses.
The protection centre of the set lunch is good value but soft drinks and extra vegetables are more expensive but the food quality was very good and interestingly presented.

We've always enjoyed the Sunday Roast at the Scape House (see my previous review) but the last two visits we've been disappointed. Everything is good, except the meat. Went a couple of weeks back and the beef was really tough and chewy, after a couple of bites we gave up the ghost and just ate the veg. To be fair they were good about it and knocked some money off the bill. We thought it was a one off but unfortunately not. Went again yesterday, steered clear of the beef as thought it could be just an issue with that but the lamb was no better. Not sure what's changed but hopefully they can resolve it so loyal customers can keep returning. The other dishes on the menu are still really good.

Opened in 1997, Volare is still an independent restaurant, owned and managed by The Corless Family. Inspration for the menu has been taken from the Mediterranean region, with an emphasis on Spanish Tapas, seafood dishes, steaks, homemade desserts, carefully selected wines, local, micro brewery ales & continental beers. Volare is located on a village high street with plenty of parking nearby. The interior is absolutely beautiful. The service is helpful, informal and attentive and the welcome is pure friendly Yorkshire! Booking is often necessary.

i was the only one in the restaurant which doesn't make for a welcoming environment although the staff were very accomadating.
This was somewahat spoilt by the negative attitude I got when I asked for a glass of water.
the lamb shank was excellent and very meaty with nice rice to accompany but the chefs tomato sauce could have been more flavoursome

Had a fabulous Christmas Day Lunch here with the family. The restaurant was very busy and the staff were great. We were a large party and nearly everyone ordered different meals but the staff were not phased at all. The service was excellent, the food piping hot and absolutely delicious.
Well done guys you did a great job for us.

This pub serves wonderful top quality pub food. A warm welcome from owner/manager/staff and efficient service. Regular pub food favourites feature on menu amd they also do a traditional Sunday lunch- tje roast beef was cooked to perfection- lovely and pink. Great gravy. Reasonable prices
