What to do and see in Singapore, Singapore: The Best Sightseeing Tours

September 13, 2021 Diedre Savory

The Singapore cityscape looks like it was ripped from the pages of a science fiction comic book. If you’re hungry for a true Singapore experience, sample the myriad street foods or take a cultural cooking class. The Botanic Gardens and the Gardens By the Bay offer a slice of horticultural heaven, and the observation deck of the Sands SkyPark makes you feel like you’re high above the clouds. The banks and walkways along the Singapore River bustle with local activity.

Happened to chance upon Billy's service when googling for some simple guided tour for my friends from overseas. The experience dealing with Billy was fuss free and amazing. This includes how trustworthy he is in securing my booking just through WhatsApp confirmation, providing value added advice leading up to the tour itself and appeared 20mins ahead of time on the day of the tour itself. Billy is very knowledgeable, humorous and always ready to share more information about the urban redevelopment of singapore. It was not only a pleasant experience for my foreign friends (who thanked me for such a informative tour) and also a enriching session for me and my local friends as we learnt alot more about our tiny little red dots during this half a day tour. I would highly recommend anyone who is looking for a value for money, entertaining and informative guided tour to engage Billy for his service!

Built in the late 1930s, The Battlebox is a former WWII British underground command centre inside Fort Canning Hill at the heart of Singapore City. The British army defended Malaya and Singapore from this legendary hideout in World War II. It was also here that the British made the decision to surrender Singapore to the invading Japanese on 15 February 1942. Today, the Battlebox is a museum that unveils the true causes behind “the worst disaster and largest capitulation in British history”. This tour tells two stories – the fall of Malaya and Singapore in WWII, and how an underground command centre functioned during World War II. Hear both from your professional English speaking guide as he/she leads you through the place that made history during the war.
