What to do and see in Chinatown, Singapore: The Best Food & Drink

May 19, 2022 Frederic Celentano

The Singapore cityscape looks like it was ripped from the pages of a science fiction comic book. If you’re hungry for a true Singapore experience, sample the myriad street foods or take a cultural cooking class. The Botanic Gardens and the Gardens By the Bay offer a slice of horticultural heaven, and the observation deck of the Sands SkyPark makes you feel like you’re high above the clouds. The banks and walkways along the Singapore River bustle with local activity.

Great to get back to Food Playground after doing a great class here 4 yrs ago. Love that you get a hands on cooking experience while learning about the food culture and history of Peranakan food in Singapore. Mary was a terrific tutor sharing her own family experience and upbringing. Daniel (owner) is the champion of this meaningful social cause, which is to help more stay-at-home mothers return to the workforce by providing them with meaningful flexible employment opportunities so they can stay connected to society, earn some income for their family and regain their self-confidence. Highly recommended as the first thing to do during any stay in the lion city!
