What to do and see in Singapore, Singapore: The Best Department Stores

July 17, 2021 Toi Mattera

The Singapore cityscape looks like it was ripped from the pages of a science fiction comic book. If you’re hungry for a true Singapore experience, sample the myriad street foods or take a cultural cooking class. The Botanic Gardens and the Gardens By the Bay offer a slice of horticultural heaven, and the observation deck of the Sands SkyPark makes you feel like you’re high above the clouds. The banks and walkways along the Singapore River bustle with local activity.

I started off my engagement ring journey with a few elements that I know my fiancée would want: a blue gemstone ring, a classy dainty design, and cats (fiancée loves them to infinity), but had absolutely no idea how to incorporate all these elements into a truly unique ring that would be personal and reflect our journey as a couple. But this is where I landed at Rachel P Jewels, and how I am so thankful to have engaged her bespoke services! After doing some research and deciding on a paraiba tourmaline gemstone for the centerstone, my search for a bespoker jeweller narrowed down to RachelP and a handful of others as my options due to the rarity of the gem, which is a testament to the wide range of gemstones Rachel carries in her inventory! Now comes the bespoke design and service portion which Rachel set herself apart from the other jewellers that I have visited. Rachel has a gift for making you feel at ease with her, and her enthusiastic demeanor and passion for jewellery makes it really easy to bounce design ideas with her. She is also a genuine listener that tries to understand the design vision I had in mind. After listening to the elements I wanted in my engagement ring, she boldly recommended doing 3D motif story pieces on the gallery(side) of the ring! Something that did not cross my mind as I didn't think it was within the realm of possibility, nor have any jewellers suggested that previously. On hindsight, I can understand her confidence when she has such a masterful craftsman! Once the rough design was decided, Rachel went on to work on the 3D render which is of great quality and is really value adding to help visualise the actual final product! During the revision, she was also very patient and attentive to the micro details even though the alterations I have requested were super nitpicky and probably only made like 0.2mm difference IRL. When the final product was finished, the ring was absolutely beautiful! The details on the motifs were excellently crafted, the workmanship was impeccable, and the dream ring I envisioned for my fiancée was brought to life, better than what I could have imagined! Pictures tell a thousand words, but even then, they are not able to truly express the beauty that Rachel has brought to this ring that will be very close to our hearts. TLDR. Reasons to choose Rachel P for your bespoke jewellery: A truly bespoke and personal jewellery; Very competitive prices; Wide selection of gemstones; Attentive, patient and detailed during designing phase; Great quality 3D renders; EXCELLENT workmanship and attention to detail on the actual ring; Great service all around!

I like to visit this department store, but too bad, they will close soon. The service here is good and the area is spacious enough to enjoy shopping. They carry good ranges of international brands of cosmetics, which I love most. I visited for close down sale and managed to get my favorite brand item with good price. Will miss this store.
