We were totally enthralled with the Mountain of Nine Lotuses. It is easy to see why Li Bai (701-762) visited in the mountain and was intoxicated with the fascinating scenery of nine lotuses shaped peaks upon green river. He described the landscape in his poem. Mt. Jiuhuashan now boasts ofexquisite architecture and grand structures of temples.

Too many temples in Jiuhuashan. The holy mountain of Ksitigarbha. Knowing something about him will enrich you visit here. Most of the temples have eminent monks whose body is well preserved. Few things to note is the price of incense( bring your own or buy in the city) and the price of telling your fortune. Do not ring any bells( there are many in each temple) the price is astronomical.

旅行シーズンになると、500万人が訪れると言うこの街はどことなく無錫や周荘に似ている。2000年前から存在してたと言うオーラがプンプン。上海から車で6時間かけて行ったが、それなりに価値のある場所に思えた。ただ、行くなら春以降がオススメ。石畳の道路や山荘は大理石を敷いているので底冷えが止まりません。

We took a tour bus to Mt. Jiuhua. It is a sacred mountain with Buddhist temples, learning center for Buddhism, and more. Tourist dollars help to support the temples. It is a lovely ride up into the Mountains with gorgeous scenic views along the way to the top. There is moderate walking, some stairs to climb, and souvenir shops. Bring your camera!
