Tiantong Temple

Went there with a friend, it's a gentle walk to the temple, tree lined road history says the monk that build it prayed for something to happen to move the heavy tree trunks from the forest to the area. A rain followed the place closed and the trunks were used to build the temple. This place has everything, temples, monks, history, a big pagoda, an ancient tree, 2 lakes with huge fish living in it, and an original temple of 1700 years old which is hidden in the forest. Local hawkers for street food which is great, and shopping stalls including a couple selling 100% local pure honey!

Huzhou Nanxun Old Town

Reviewed By sans_gh - Kolkata (Calcutta), India

obviously if you in shanghai for a couple of days you cant visit all water towns. so you have to decide which one to visit. nanxun was a great choice. loved it. its quite different than other water towns i heard. best thing for me was very few tourists in comparison to the more famous towns. loved the old houses of rich residents, the water canals, the bridges and the boat ride in it. i will definitely recommend this one. you wont feel disappointed.
