Hello, I’m Bertrand Bosc. I’m a guide in the Pic-Saint-Loup area, near Montpellier, where I take visitors around to discover my region and its culture. Together, we will explore the terroir, the wine, and the gastronomy of course, but also the less noticeable details, the little things that make this place so special to me. While we navigate between domains, garrigue, small roads and local gastronomy, I will give you an outdoor and leisurely introduction to oenology. We will talk about wine, grapes and terroir, certainly, but also about the countryside, the people and the thousand of other things that shape taste and life in their own ways around here. We had a fabulous day on this wine tour - visited 2 beautiful wineries where we tasted some fabulous wine. It was a lovely small group and Bertrand, who was amazing! The highlight of the tour was the amazing meal at his mother's BnB - delicious food in a truly gorgeous setting! I would highly recommend this tour!

Wonderful evening spent here with fantastic food and wine in a relaxed environment where any question is a good question and a wine you like the taste of is a good wine!
Great hosts. Felt like going to see your friends at home. Very informative too. 15 minute taxi from Carcassone. Lots of different wine tastings with explanations as to why there are differences. You do not need to be a wine buff here, just enjoy the company, the good food and the great wine.

Read the history before you go. If you are religious this can be a good stop if you area in the area. I am not religious and this seemed more of a commercial place rather than a place to practice your religion.

Overwhelming. The largest brick building in the world. Even more so as there are no trees around, just sheer color flaming upwards. Tubes. Fleshy. Almost organic. Bishops needed that to ascertain their power. For years I was dreaming to discover, once in my life, the famous Last Judgement inside. Dating back from the XVth c. requesting a crowd of Italian painters contemporary to those who completed the Sixtine Chapel in Rome. On the right of Christ the elect, on the left the damned, all with almond-shaped protruding bellies, all wearing the book of good and bad actions around their necks. Tortures linked to the 7 capital sins : pride, envy, anger, (deleted sloth), avarice, greed (oh, such lizards and devils !), lust. Such delicacy, too, in the rendering, with ground colors fixed with egg yolk and glu. Such delicacy in everything, to the stone lace, lace indeed : Richelieu had to draw out his pocket knife to check whether it was stone or stucco...

I never heard of a fortified mill but it was needed in desperate times. A dog is the doorbell, alerting his master that he has vistors. The owner speaks almost no English but hands you a sheet of subtitles as he explains the features. More interesting than gristmills I have seen here in the states.

This is a special place, created by a very special human being. Please treat it with the respect it deserves. Although it was out of season (the museum opens by prior arrangement in summer) Pierre responded to my email and we were able to arrange a visit by phone. You will need to be able to speak some French to be able to benefit from Pierre's knowledge.
My husband I learnt an enormous amount about the caravans of the nomadic and circus people and enjoyee seeing inside them. Pierre is incredibly generous with his time, expertise and stories. There is no fee for the visit. The least we can do is to learn as much as we can about the various nomadic peoples and their culture and heritage. We wish Pierre and Celine all the best with this ongoing project and very much hope to be able to return for a musical event one day. Maybe with some flamenco!

A wonderful natural geographic formation, caused by the Vis River which still flows through the gorge. The view from the top where there is a visitor centre and exhibition which describes the ox bow formation is interesting though only in French. There is a brief film also and a decent restaurant and craft shop. The road down to Navacelles a very small little hamlet at the bottom of the gorge is not difficult as long as you proceed cautiously and are happy to drive around hairpin bends (switchbacks). However whilst driving down and coming up again we noticed several campervans and cars towing caravans (trailers) in difficulty so please consider carefully if it is wise for you to attempt the decent if driving one of these vehicles. The little hamlet has a river bathing spot with clean water information and on a hot day was popular with children and adults. There are however steep drops and Waterfalls and care/supervision of youngsters is needed. The water was beautifully clean. The village has wonderful views of the surrounding Mountains and the visitor centre can be seen at the top. It is a relaxing, scenic and educational experience for the whole family.

We had seen this on Trip Advisor and were also recommended it by the Tourist Office in Pezenas.
Highly recommend it as a place to spend an afternoon - really stunning site.
Look out for variable opening times though - mostly late afternoon only.
There is a small cafe on site - for refreshments, though only that.
The Gardens are stunning with a different view from every angle, loads to see - and even with 2 teenage girls, kept their interest for a few hours!

Although the museum features about several thousands of different tractors (rough estimate) there are some rare treasures to be found among the many other machines and vehicles as well. There are for example quite a lot of old citroëns 'dans leur jus' on show. Especially lovely is the fact that most of what is exhibited is left in it's original state. When walking through the many tunnels you get the distinct feeling of traveling back in time. The owner is clearly a passionate collector. A real treat to visit.
