I like this museum because it has a large variety of exhibits. Frederick Scheffel is a good painter. It could be nice a Coffee shop close the museum and also a souvenir shop. I didn't find any postcard from the city. The museum guide was very attentive. It costs € 2 to get in the museum. I recommend to take a look around the museum. There are many style German houses.

Hamburgo Velho

This should be one of the most carefully preserved place in Novo hamburgo since it was the place where first immigrants started the city.
However, this city has never had a good eyes to history and tourism.
An handful of local personalities tried their best to preserve and restore buildings there, but these have always been personal efforts, since I've never seen a strong public support for that.
To start, they should close traffic on that area, incentive cafeteria and restaurants there.

Good place to spend the day and do some some shopping. Nothing extraordinary about the place, strikes me like any typical designers outlet you see in Europe structurally but way smaller in terms of size. The place is well looked after.
The prices here are quite reasonable compared to what we find in Rio. Transportation is a bit disappointing getting out of there, unless you have arranged with one to come back for you.

I like to visit the museum. It has a guide that explains about the place that was a warehouse colonized by Germans. The home has objects donated by residents of German descent. It's a great place to learn a little history of the city. It is free.
