I was more than delighted to have the opportunity to visit this house with its wonderful collection of Canadian art. Still a private house with immaculate Gardens, expect a very warm welcome with an extremely informative guided tour. The house and it's collection are little known to many, something that needs to be rectified. Go!

We stopped in Pictou on a return trip to the East coast and were impressed with the Hector Heritage Quay. The replica ship is well worth visiting and the history of early settlers is very informative and impressive. The quay has very clean public washrooms and the walk is interesting. It’s close to downtown Pictou which is also worth visiting to see the early architecture. It was a very worthwhile stop and we will likely return to Pictou to see the many other attractions.

Due to the dedication and vision of Vince Joy, a local veteran and collector, this has blossomed into one of the most incredible military museums in the entire country! This museum was the first in Canada to display the complete set of Challenge and Command coins from Afghanistan.
On a shoe string budget, he has amassed a fabulous collection of artifacts and uniforms - including the tunics of Governor General Michaelle Jean, and Chiefs of the Defence Staff General Rick Hillier and General Walt Natynczyk! This place is worth a 'destination' visit in you are anywhere in Nova Scotia.

Visited the park on a hot Sunday afternoon. There is plenty of parking, bathrooms with running water, shower outside, walkways to the beach which is truly worth the drive. The beach is long so lots of room to spread out. Sand in the water with small pebbles, need to watch out if heavy waves for currents when swimming. Great place to bring kids as lifeguards on duty. We arrived just after a lightning show, so beach was closed for 45 minutes for safety sakes. Bring lots of water to drink as was 30 degrees Celsius!

This a an indoor playground for kids up to 12 years old. We have an infant play area as well for kids who are too small to climb the structure. We have lots of drinks and snacks on hand for kids also we have specialty coffee and mini cheesecake for the adults. We have a party room for birthday parties. We have ongoing programs such as music, art, and more. We offer free wi-fi and there's lots of parking The fee for kids over 2 is 7.00 plus tax for unlimited playtime. The adults get in for free:)Hope to see you here soon!!

This indoor playground is in a older building in a industrial park on the outskirts of Stellarton. Inside is a large room withe the play structure which ALL KIDS LOVE. This used to be a mine site. Now it is a lovely park with a trail, a pond, a playground and the Miner’s Memorial.
When we arrived, kids were playing on the playground. There was nice sign welcoming us. We did the trek that they encouraged us to do. There were pictures of this town in the past. That was quite interesting.
What intrigued me the most is that they changed a mine site into this amazing park.
There were two monuments, one about the Miner’s Memorial to the miners of the region who had been killed in mining accidents.
There was another memorial. In 1873 an explosion occurred in town and many died.
I truly enjoyed this park. The trek was worthwhile and the historical content was quite touching. It’s worthwhile to see that the mine was changed into a park. I think that was a great idea! Wow!

A small and peaceful provincial park showing some of the Wilderness of the Northumberland shore, this setting is broken when the ferry comes in and lets off its horn. It is a nice place to visit, and the beachfront walk can take up a couple of hours.

It's an exciting experience to visit a replica of the original Hector... a typical ship of that time which brought first Scottish immigrants to Canada. And it was Pictou area where it all had started...
Immigrants arrived in fall, they weren't prepared for harsh winter... Half of then had died. But whoever survived worked on clearing land and getting some food with the help of native people. Without their support immigrants would have died all.
The ship is beautiful but the conditions for immigrants on it were unbearable. Old people and sick children were dying, there was shortage of food and water. It was hit by huge storm near Newfoundland and the arrival of the ship was postponed by two weeks.
It was incredible that they'd made it! Vivat Hector! Vivat New Scotland!

A great little spot to spend the day. They have a driving range with both grass tees as well as mats, and the driving range is lit at night. There are chipping greens, sand, and putting greens for practice. They also have a beautiful 9 hole par three golf course, great for all ages and skill levels. I would highly recommend this place, the whole family loved it and we plan on going back next year .
