Kabul Star Hotel & Restaurant

Reviewed By ATAHM - Vienna, Austria

I have not been to the hotel but the Afghani Food here is awesome and with live Afghani Music playing at the same time makes it more of an Afghani Traditional Restaurant.
The staff members are friendly and is very crowded during the weekend nights. You can dine inside and outside in the front lawn.

Serena

If you manage to go to the security (it took me over 15 minutes) you enter in an totally new world.. Very beautyful Italian styled garden, the interior tastefully decorated and up to international standards. Island of happiness.
For food they serve mainly a buffet, really good and also up to 'world class'. Sushis in the Asian restaurant were very disappointing but remember: Afghanistan is a land locked country in civil war...
I did not manage to get a decent beer, only non-alcoholic drinks. What a pity. If you want to escape the 'tristesse' of Kabul: That's the place

Had it delivered to Eggers then took it back to my room. It was ok but a lot of vegetables and not enough meat. The nan bread was pretty small and the whole order was expensive.

Le jardin at Taimini, Kabul has a great ambiance with a beautiful garden with ethnic table and chairs and dim lights. It serves homemade pastas, steaks and the sweet chocolate cake among other delightful dishes. The restaurant also has a bakery on site . This place is frequented by expats on thursday and friday night.

We ordered several dishes from Namaste and everyone of them were excellent. If you visit Kabul, order food from here. For obvious reasons eating out in Kabul is not recommended. One of the best Indian dishes I have ever had. Highly recommended.

Kefayat Turkish Restaurant

Reviewed By Zachary H - Laramie, Wyoming

The supermarket accompanying the Kefayat Restaurant is considered the best in Mazar-i-Sharif. I wasn't "wow'd" - you have to adjust your expectations - but the supermarket had mostly western products and is set off from the main street (so extra secure).
Cash only, but there is an ATM on site.

Sufi

Reviewed By SChatterjee_13 - Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India

I stayed in the hotel during first part of July then went to Varanasi. Sufi hotel is good to stay as the country (Afghanistan) has been facing law & order issue. Here one can feel secured as well as foods and rooms are cleaned. Good to stay while one is in Kabul. Both lodging and restaurants are available.

Table Talk

Reviewed By Saba A - Rawalpindi, Pakistan

I started going to Table Talk soon when I arrived to Kabul, and 11 months later, I haven't stopped. Despite having been to other restaurants, Table Talk remains my most favorite 'security cleared' eatery in the city. Not only is their food always great (it may not be very fancy, but it tastes great), they also offer sheesha. You can sit in one of the booths inside, or ask for a separate room which has couches if you want to relax with your friends in a bit more privacy. They also have traditional Afghan style sitting outside with wooden platforms with cushions, and also have plastic patio style tables and chairs. This restaurant caters to both nationals and expatriates so is a little less of a target given the security place of the country. I always find a healthy mix of both young nationals and expatriates in the restaurant which I appreciate since most eateries in the country only serve to one group. Although they don't deliver, I often call them for takeaway as well. While when ordering takeaways from other areas in the city, because of the language barrier (and the locals' limited proficiency in English), they do get the order wrong sometimes, but I have never had the order go wrong in Table Talk and always end up getting pipping hot, fresh food.
