Pagsanjan Falls

Reviewed By Nancy Kelley A - Orlando, Florida, United States

I've been here several times. It is more touristy now than before but still fun. I like the views, the experience is quite unique and the it is a relaxing but exhilarating trip. The only problem is that the boat men tend to be very tenacious about asking for a tip. They spent so much of their time telling us how they needed a big tip that it ruined the trip to some degree. My husband made a formal complaint about it.

Enchanted Kingdom

Reviewed By patlv23 - Winnipeg, Canada

Enchanted Kingdom is pretty much the premiere theme park in the Philippines.
For me it hasn't changed much since I last went a decade ago. There's definitely more rides but the feel is the same. Again, like any theme park, near closing, the lines disappear, so you can pretty much ride over and over.
Ticketing/entry was a long process so improvements can be made there. I do appreciate the effort in the beginning to measure kids' height so you know up-front what rides they can enjoy and the requirements regarding companions.
The big change for me was Agila Experience.
If you've been to the Mall of America in Minneapolis, there is an attraction there called FlyOver America. This is very similar, but this time with a trip through some of the Philippines' popular attractions and even a couple I didn't know about. I would bet that it was built by the same company. The difference though, if I remember correctly, is that in FlyOver America, the edges of the screen are not very prominent. I wish they had done the same with Agila because it helps with the "like I'm really there" effect. Agila has a decent "pre-show" as you make your way through the facility before the actual show. There is a story being told from the beginning until the show. I wish they improve the sound system though, I could barely understand some of the dialogue. We went in near closing time so lines were short so I don't know how the experience would be with bigger crowds. I enjoy these type of attractions in general, so I enjoyed this one as well.

Lake Pandin

Reviewed By pinoyfamily - Lucena City

There is a raft with lunch activity here, make an inquiry or booking thru Ms Tina 09079952983.Ride with lunch is P360, consisting of steamed rice, broiled tilapia fish, river shrimps cooked in coconut milk, pako or fern salad with salted eggs on top, banana and bottled water. You can add pork barbeque in the menu for additional P40 per person. Before reaching the place, you need to hike for about 15 mins, the initial trail is shaded, the next is not, so better be ready with hats or umbrellas. Wear comfortable footwear. A young guide will lead you to the location. Guides are young students, 11 years old and above. They wear Lake Pandin Tour ID and are trained. Mine is a 12 year old highschool freshman, respectful and he can answer my queries about the place. They are not salaried guides, it's up to you how much you want to give. The bamboo raft can sit a maximum of 14 people, lifevests available in your 2 hour rafting. Your raft guides are courteous, you can have your lunch anytime in the raft. We took our spot near the grotto whre fresh, cool mountain water flows. The deepest part of the lake is 180 ft, you can swim near your raft. The water is so clean. You can order fresh buco or halo halo before you ride if you feel so hot. But once you start moving, you will forget how tired you get from walking just to reach the place. Beautiful place, a must-see!

Solenad

Reviewed By Joyce D

We live near Solenad so it's no problem getting here. Now that there's Solenad 1, 2 & 3, there's more food choices to choose from depending on your preferences and budget. The Ayala Malls Solenad adds gaming and cinemas to the activities it offers. Clothing, toy, book stores are also present here.
There is a wide outside parking lot without any fee as of today. But on weekends especially at night, expect to have this full already then you have to park at the gravel area which still has a security guard.
The latest addition to Solenad is the p2p bus from Solenad to Glorietta for P150 until November 2017 then to its regular price at P250 starting December 2017

Had my two grandchildren to Santa Elena Fun Farm in Laguna, Philippines, and they enjoyed it to the limit!
Horse rides (with an attendant to help), a boat ride, catching fish (and throwing them back in the water), climbing structures,
Feeding the rabbits, Guinea pigs, horses & more. Food provided by the Fun Farm.
They almost wore out the zip line, built just for kids, how great is that?
Picnic tables available if you bring your lunch.
Don't miss it - it's one of a a kind!

Hulugan Falls

Reviewed By iam_via - Manila

You have to take 20 to 30 minutes trek before you can finally marvel the beauty of this falls. First is the descending trek which is quite dangerous when it's rainy season because it's muddy with a lot of rocks. Descending part is a bit easy than the ascending part. My gawd! I think I lost 3 kilos after the whole trek! But for what it's worth, the falls is so beautiful! So perfect! It actually comprises of 3 Waterfalls on different location. We never got the chance to witness the other two since we started the trek around 3:45 PM and it's already getting late so the tour guide advised us to only take the tour with the first waterfall. Tour guide is a must if you wish to go there, they strictly do not allow you to go on your own. Probably because it's still considered as "newly discovered" and they have this superstitious belief... I'm so glad I made this tour. It's an experience worth remembering.

Lakes Pandin

Reviewed By cedangeles - Washington, DC

Four of us had a lovely trip to Lake Pandin in San Pablo, Laguna. We left early to avoid heavy traffic. The lake is difficult to find so when you ask for directions from the locals, make sure you ask for baranggay Santo Angel or simply "ilog". It is a 15-minute walk to the lake from the makeshift parking lot. A little girl serves as guide to the village where the rafts are. Make sure you have PHP50 for the parking fee and a little more to tip the little guide.
Our delicious lunch on the raft consisted of grilled bangus (milkfish), rice wrapped in banana leaves, tiny shrimps cooked in coconut milk, fern salad with salted egg, and bananas. The Filipino dessert called "halo-halo" is also available if requested.
It was so peaceful and breezy on the lake that one could easily nod off. Tina Abrego, the President of the cooperative that operates the tours to the seven lakes, and Ruel Tolentino manned the raft. Once you get to the other side of the lake, there is a short hike to the top to see Lake Yambo, the twin of Lake Pandin.
The water was clear and cool but we did not swim. Just sitting there and admiring the beautiful surroundings was pleasant enough. On the way back home, we took the long route along Laguna de Bay which was more scenic and had less traffic. Our short stay on the lake was a lovely treat on a warm, sunny day.
To book the tour, call Tina at 09079952983. You can make special requests for lunch.

Taytay Falls

Reviewed By SherwinJoseph - Luzon, Philippines

The place is good for a weekend nature getaway.
Place is far from the Majayjay town proper, but it's all worth it. Forget about the busy City life, and enjoy nature!
A private vehicle might help, since the place is relatively far from the town proper. You need to travel 10-12kms from Majayjay proper to this place. You need to pay P20 per head for the environmental fee. A collector from the Barangay Council will be there to assist.
There are also transient houses near the Taytay Falls main entrance, available at affordable rates.
To reach the falls, you need to walk at least 15mins. Don't worry, the trail is now improved. Enjoy!

Sampaloc Lake

Stayed at a hotel across the lake and walked down to the lake's edge. It was nice (and very windy!!!) hanging out by the side of the lake, people watching. There are cement benches and a small road where people walk and bike.
