Our Lady of Grace Sanctuary

The first place on this route is Krzeszów, with a post-Cistercian monastic complex and a Calvary. It is a monument already appreciated, recognised by the president of Poland as a History Monument. The monastic church of the Assumption of Mary, with its greatness and splendour, was supposed to help fighting the reformation. This stylistically uniform, baroque temple with equipment also baroque is called the European Gem of Baroque. The most precious piece of the sanctuary is the oldest in Poland image of Mary - the icon of Our Lady of Grace.

As for me it is the greatest example of baroque sacral buildings in whole Poland. Two churches presenting the early (kind of renessaince-based) st. Joseph's church and the magnificent basilica in full baroque way. The mausoleum is also impressive, it is the integral part of the basilica.
As for the history, it is pretty messed up, so it's nice to get a guided tour (not really expensive), as it is easier to understand the history of the place.
The best thing, in my opinion, is that it isn't crowded - the tourists go there rarely, so you can explore it in peace (as it should be!).
There are some restaurants in the village, so there is something to eat - they're not bad and they're cheap for sure.
A total must-see for me. The baroque pearl that existence is known to little.

Arado - Lost Hitler's Laboratory

It's well worthwhile visiting Arado. First of all have a look at the exhibits 50 feet above the entrance before starting the tour, which takes about 45 minutes.
There's plenty of light-hearted interaction and role playing for the first half of the tour through the tunnels. Then, towards the end, things turn very serious as the horror of what happened is told. I was impressed with how the switch in tone was done.
There's also an interesting display of artefacts at the end, including an Enigma Machine. Overall, fascinating and very good value for money.

Lakes of Color

The lakes are nicely located in the middle of the forest. The first (yellow) and the second one (red) are quite close (200 m and 400 m respectively). The blue one is a bit further - about 1,5 km from the park entrance, but it's worth a visit. However the last one (green) is really far away and absolutely not worth getting there. It's very small and sometimes dries out completely. Personally I find the red one the most attractive one, because of the scenery. It's surrounded but the rocks and it all resembles the Grand Canyon a little bit. Of course it's more like a mini version of the Grand Canyon, but it makes impression! If you ever have a chance to go there, do not miss it, it's a very pleasant place.

Muzeum Tkactwa W Kamiennej Gorze

Reviewed By AgaFrancja - Warsaw, Poland

The current museum of the Lower-Silesian Weaving is located in a baroque tenement in the market so the place is beautiful! Currently, the museum collects sets in three sections: art, weaving and numismatic-historical and the collections are very interesting.
I strongly recommend this museum to better understand the pre and after Second World War period in. Polane and specjały in the Lower Silesia region.
The entry fee is 10PLN for an adult. There is a fee if you want to take picture inside the museum (20PLN), but they did not any money from me.
