Dubai Fountains

Choreographed to music, the Dubai Fountain shoots water as high as 500 feet –that’s as high as a 50-story building. Designed by creators of the Fountains of Bellagio in Vegas, Dubai Fountain Performances occur daily on the 30-acre Burj Khalifa Lake.

The experience of the Dubai Fountains is a must do in Dubai. I crossed the Dubai Mall from entrance to the Apple Store's balcony at 6:30 pm to witness the first sunset show. Awesome. Could be even nicer if there were not so many people interested in the Fountains at the same time and at the same spot. I was like peas in a pod. Some very nasty tourists pushing and jostling to get the best views. Anyways it is worth it. Next time I will choose a better location.

Burj Khalifa

Described as both a ‘Vertical City’ and ‘A Living Wonder,’ Burj Khalifa, developed by Dubai-based Emaar Properties PJSC, is the world’s tallest building. Rising gracefully from the desert, Burj Khalifa honours the city with its extraordinary union of art, engineering and meticulous craftsmanship. At 828 metres (2,716.5 ft), the 200 plus storey Burj Khalifa has 160 habitable levels, the most of any building in the world. The tower was inaugurated on January 4, 2010, and is responsible for a number of world-firsts. The tower became the world’s tallest man-made structure just 1,325 days after excavation work started in January 2004. Burj Khalifa utilised a record-breaking 330,000 cubic metres of concrete; 39,000 tonnes of steel reinforcement; 103,000 square metres of glass; and 15,500 square metres of embossed stainless steel. The tower took 22 million man hours to build.

With so many high end premium brands under one roof its great to experience shopping here. Too hype on high end pricing but worth it for premium brands but you get decent brands at mid size ticket. Experience the feel around this.

We went for the cocktails skyview bar. The setting and view is really amazing. The staff was (too) friendly, but this is a seven star hotel, so many (rich) people expect this kind of treatment. Once in a lifetime but off course very very expensive.

Not to be missed experience when in Dubai. Amazing rides and safety around it. Carry your swimsuits as without swinsuits you are not allowed to take rides. Though you get the same in shop within but its too pricy. Once there you may not be able to resist temptation hence carry one swimsuit.
One of the best in the world undoubtably.
Life guards and safety is applaudable.

Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo

Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo is one of the most captivating attractions in Dubai. Located at The Dubai Mall, the largest mall in the world, offering a memorable journey into ocean life. With capacity to hold 10 million litres of water, Dubai Aquarium is one of the largest indoor Aquariums in the world and it illuminates the marvels of the ocean floor, showcasing one of the most diverse collections of aquatic life. Located just above the aquarium, Underwater Zoo brings visitors up close with penguins, piranhas, crabs, water rats, sea horses, jellyfish and plenty more. A fascinating new addition at Underwater Zoo is King Croc, regarded as nature's rare phenomenon and one of the world's largest reptiles - at over 5 meters long and weighing an imposing 750 kg plus. Underwater Zoo regularly hosts innovative exhibits. One such exhibit, 'UAE's Night Creatures' presents the experience of nightfall in the desert as creatures of the dark.

We visited later in the day (6pm) and found we didn't have to queue for more than 5 minutes
The underwater tunnel is amazing and great to see and take photos of the different fish, however when we reached the end it was a little anti climatic and thinking is that it?!
We had an explorer experience and were able to go into the little zoo part and take a "boat ride" around the aquarium.
Worth a visit only if you have time and money. If not admire and take photos from the Mall - just as impressive.

Grand Mosque

Reviewed By Kathy S - Granite Bay, CA

I was overwhelmed by the size and beauty of this mosque. It has the largest single carpet in the world, and the chandeliers are immense. I couldn't stop taking pictures. If you are visiting the area, you must see this. We saw it as part of a full-day tour of Abu Dhabi from Dubai and are so glad we did.
