The Villa of Theseus

This site is right next to the harbour and has a very cheap entry price. The mosaics are everywhere and some you can even walk on as they are mainly outside. Incredible workmanship.

Church of Antiphonitis

Located in the dramatic mountains of Pentadaktylos, this octagonal 12th-century monastic church is decorated with frescoes.

It is well worth the trip into the forest from Entesseppe to visit this beautiful church. It costs next to nothing for entry, paid to the "keeper" in a bare office. The atmosphere inside is something special, the Christian frescoes in various states of decay add to this. There are also a group of icons and a candle stand for prayers and intentions. The view over the sea is very pleasant too, on a hot day the breeze was a blessing. I believe the Keeper will provide drinks if requested, a long table in the shade is there to enjoy refreshments.

Salamis

Just a short drive from the main town, the ruins are just off the parking lot. Not overrun with visitors, but a sprawling gymnasium and baths complex and wonderful ampitheatre are highlights. The short loop takes you to all you need to see. We did the longer walk, which goes through brush for a while before coming to much less impressive ruins.

Kourion

Kourion has everything one might want in an ancient archaeological site: a theatre, an agora, an early Christian basilica, excellent mosaics, Roman baths, a seaside location, and more! There is nothing better than to be at this site on a cool, sunny day. If you are in Cyprus, don't miss Kourion. It is very close to Limassol and not too far from Paphos.

Always interesting to visit this house . Beautifully kept clean by the army . Beginning to need some money spent on it to preserve the beauty of the items on display.
