Visited briefly with cousin Jeremy and our wives. It is really more suited to couples with children. Lots of exciting things for them including a series of zip wires, segway rides, canoeing in the lake and picnic spots. We had a pleasant hours walk.

Great fun was had by all with Canoe the Wye.
The staff were really friendly and helpful and the experience was excellent. It's a really nice way to spend a summers day!
The time limit is more than you will need, giving you plenty of time to stop for a beer at a pub or do what we did and stop on one of the shoal Beaches for a picnic.
Highly recommended.
I'm already looking forward to and planning my next visit.

Kymin Hill

The Kymin is a monument to some of our greatest fighting admirals, Nelson, Hood etc. Yes it’s nowhere near the sea but the views from this monument are astounding looking down on Monmouth and the far off countryside beyond. The ancient woodlands surrounding the roundhouse are absolutely fabulous, our dog the mad Weimaraner Izzy was in her element chasing squirrels, her favourite pastime. Yes it is a narrow winding road leading up to the Kymin but well worth the trouble to visit what is an absolutely stunning location.

We absolutely love this cinema and go a couple of times a month, this is due to the very reasonable pricing of tickets, sweets and drinks and that there is free parking nearby. Worth our 20 min drive each way without a doubt. Clean facilities and nice staff. Keep up the good work.

The Secret Forest

The Secret Forest is a part natural and part man made landscape and has a roundhouse village demonstrating how iron age workers may have lived in three replica roundhouses showing different methods of construction. The landscape walk is through an open former iron age mine system that is open to the sky and known locally as ‘Scowles’; the outcrop of the crease limestone cave system which started forming approximately 180 million years ago. The abandoned mines were taken over by nature and have created a beautiful ancient woodland with trees over 800 years old. The circular path is approx. 600m long within gentle rock and root formations. Our Mission is to preserve and promote the appreciation and enjoyment of our natural environment through art, education and nature. We run courses and events. OPEN 10am to 3pm DURING SCHOOL HOLIDAYS AND WEEKENDS and by prior appointment, unless otherwise stated. See website for details. There is a tearoom and eco-toilets. Check before you travel.
