What to do and see in Busan, South Korea: The Best Places and Tips
Busan is Korea's second largest city. Tourists often come to this region to hike and to visit the Buddhist Temples located deep within the region's mountains. The Beomeosa Temple, founded in 678 AD, is perhaps one of the most frequented temples in the area and is always packed with worshipers and tourists. For art buffs, Busan offers several museums and historical buildings. If scenery is your thing, try visiting the Dongbaek Island, or bird watch at the Nakdong river estuary.

This place looks gorgeous when we got to visit, with an array of fresh blooms planted on each grave. It was a wonderful sight and I am happy to have seen it. Among the different flags erected in the site is one of my country - the Philippines!

Igidae Park is the place to go for a coastal trail on boardwalks, suspension Bridges, and garvel pathways. You keep looking seawards for the breath-taking views as you wind your leisurely way and stopping anytime you wish. Of course, you can view the complete span of the Gwangan Bridge. We went in the evening and were surprised it was not crowded at all. The journey by bus was straight-forward enough from Gyeongseongdae-Bugyeongdae Station, but once alighted, we were slightly confused as to how to get to the entry to the park. We brought along some snacks and refreshments so that we can enjoy our time and not to be constrained by time. We did visit the Oryukdo Skywalk, as it was already turning dark along the way.

It’s a really beautiful place to spend as minimum one afternoon or morning. It’s a good option to take the ship that goes around the island and also the train. (When I was there the ship was 10,000won aprox. 10dollars) and the train 3,000 or something alike

It is located in a very serene surrounding at the eastern edge of Mountains in Busan. The complex is huge. It is open 24 hours and entry is free. There are lot of track routes near the temple. Take Metro Line 1 (Orange) and get down at Beomeosa Station then Exit 7 and walk a bit to a bus stop to catch Bus No. 90 (it starts from there) and get down near the temple (10 minutes uphill drive through the forest)..

This bridge is deceptive. It is the longest bridge in Korea but doesn't look it initially. When you drive along it then solves the puzzle as the elevated aproaches then solves the puzzle. They are very long and seem to be longer than the central span.

We came on Christmas Day. Took Bus 1003 from the Gamcheon Culture Village. We came right around sunset and it was pretty crowded with people who had the same idea. It's a nice area to take pictures of the Gwangandaegyo Bridge (Korea's longest suspension bridge).

This was on our list to visit while in Busan, its not really cultural and historical, but its nice to wander the alley ways to enjoy the view and vibe. There is a bit of street art, and photo opportunities during your wanderings. We purchased the map for 2000won and this was quite handy. Maybe as we were on a week day some of the local shops were closed, but a few more places selling more local Korean food would have been good. It does give you an idea on some of the areas people live in. To get there, subway exit number 6, walk up past the hospital block C and grab the bus Saha 1-1 Seogu 2 or 2-2 ad get off across from the Gamcheon Elementary School, which is by the tourist info centre.

We took a taxi from the Oryukdo Skywalk to Taejondae for 14,200 won plus 1,400 won in tolls. This took around 30 minutes rather a much longer way via public transportation. In general, you can get a cab pretty easily from these popular sights and they drop you off right at the entrance.
We paid another 3,000 won per person to take the Danubi Train which makes a stop at the Observation Tower, Lighthouse and Taejongdae Temple. We got off at the Observation Tower and walked the 2 minutes to the lighthouse (most popular stop for everyone). At the Observation Tower, there was a Food Court and we had lunch. The Temple was actually underwhelming and a lot of people don't get off here.
The train saved some bit of walking since there isn't much to see on the way. There are lots of steps but the views are very nice. We spent around 1.5 hours here.

Stayed a week at the Western Chousan Hotel, so had the pleasure of seeing this beach at sunrise, sunset and also during the daytime on a Saturday. Was most impressed by the cleanliness and the layout. Also the entertainment in the evening the dancing and the massive bonfire were a wonderful experience.
