Top 10 restaurants in Busan, South Korea

July 27, 2017 Leonardo Torrence

Busan is Korea's second largest city.  Tourists often come to this region to hike and to visit the Buddhist Temples located deep within the region's mountains. The Beomeosa Temple, founded in 678 AD, is perhaps one of the most frequented temples in the area and is always packed with worshipers and tourists. For art buffs, Busan offers several museums and historical buildings. If scenery is your thing, try visiting the Dongbaek Island, or bird watch at the Nakdong river estuary.

This restaurant is just located next to Busan train station. Tried other pork soup nearby at jalgachi and find that this restaurant is not that porky smell.
Simple menu with about 4 different types. Could not understand the menu in English, Guess it was translated directly from Korean. We tried their intestine(pigs stomach), their speciality porkbone soup and soup with a plate of sliced pork. One of us tasted and find that the soup doesn't really taste the same. But all tasted really good and refreshing. It doesn't have a strong porky smell Nor the taste. We saw the locals sitting next to us that they put the Chilli paste and shrimp into their soup. Guess that's how the local eats.

The menu only printed in both korean & japanese language which we don't understand both the languages. The boss and staffs there don't speak a single word of english too. It's funny when we communicate in different languages when ordering food. Body language is the best international language! LOL! We want something really local and I guess this is it. The food was so good and it turns out to be my favorite through out my whole trip here in Busan.

Blowfish (which is (really) anglicized from the Korean as Fuku fish), prepared as sashimi, sushi, stew and soup. Clearly a popular restaurant with locals, with friendly service, although having tried blowfish once we wouldn't choose it over other fish. Rather rubbery and tasteless. Eat it for the novelty value, and being able to say "I ate poison fish, and lived !" The restaurant serves a killer (pun intended) Okonomiyaki. Not easy to find this place. It is in a small square set back from the main road one block north of the Paradise Hotel, and behind the Kia showroom and sand coloured Meriel Hotel building. Look for the circular red 24 hour sign on the main road and head into the car park.

Had dinner with a Re-Visit Korea Tour Group. For buffet service the food was very good to excellent. Many choices and best to sample a little from each of the numerous food stations. Private dining rooms/areas for large groups are available. A very popular restaurant for locals and tour groups. Restaurant is large which reduces the lines for many of the buffet stations.

Nice little inexpensive restaurant with good service & very tasty food. No English menu, or English spoken, but abalone appeared in a lot of the meals. I believe the abalone congee type meal was the speciality of the house, they gave us a bowl to try - was good.

Quite honestly the best Korean BBQ I've ever had in my life. Superb service. The hostess took her time to grill the meat and then went on to explain which cut of meat goes with which sauce, wrapping leaf and condiment. And it's all so different yet so good. First time I've had BBQ like a course meal, one cut at a time.
This is the kind of place that makes me return to a country for.

Great local cheap eat with big portion. A whole set includes a hot pot of pork soup with rice and several side dishes like kimchi, shrimp sauce, spiced leek, noodles, etc., all of which could be mixed with the soup at guests' own discretion and enjoy different tastes. The staff was also very friendly and nice. It was a great experience and worth a visit when traveling in Busan!

I never experienced this much humilation. When I visited this restraurant with my family, the server was cleaning up the table. But he said I had to wait over 30minutes. So we waited outside about 10minutes and I noticed there were over two tables empty so I entered and checked how long we have to wait for and it's O.K to use two table apart.
He said the orders piled up,don't pester. It was embarrassing and minutes later he came out and told if we can use another restraurant. We were rejected because of 3 children.
The service there really sucks.

Found this spot when looking for something near our hotel for breakfast. It's a pretty busy little spot, but people are in and out fairly quickly. It's run by an older couple who are super friendly. If you don't speak Korean, one of the owners will explain the menu to you - it's pretty small, basically just various combos of eggs and meat (ham, bacon). The sandwiches are awesome, we came back here 3 times because we liked it so much and wanted to try different variations of the Sandwich. They're very simple and tasty. They also serve fresh juices, just sort of depending on what fruits or vegetables they have around.
